1. When you first applied to join the CF team, what was it you wanted to bring to the game? How have your continuing contributions and goals changed since those early days?
2. If you were to chart yourself as an Achiever, Explorer, Killer, or Socializer (from the Bartle test or derivative) where do you fall? Have you perceived a change over time?

To answer 2:
I found a piratey Bartle test derivative from:
http://www.black-knight.org/pp/bartle/genq.cgi
The terminology is piratey, but it is not hard to translate brigands into mobs etc.
My score was:
Thanks for taking this test. You are pirate number 20557 to have done so. Your type is SEK. 3% of the respondents thus far are of this type.
Your scores were as follows:
Socializer: 80% Explorer: 66% Killer: 26% Achiever: 26%
An average score is 50%, with a maximum of 100%; the scores will total to 200%, since there are 30 questions, half of which are applicable to each type.
What scores do you people get from that test?

1. When you first applied to join the CF team, what was it you wanted to bring to the game? How have your continuing contributions and goals changed since those early days?
I just wanted an opportunity to contribute creatively to a game I enjoyed. I always enjoyed being gamemaster in pen and paper RPGS, so applying to imm seemed like a logical extention of play for me.
2. If you were to chart yourself as an Achiever, Explorer, Killer, or Socializer (from the Bartle test or derivative) where do you fall? Have you perceived a change over time?
Now: Socializer, Explorer, Killer, Achiever
When I started: Socializer, Explorer, Achiever, Killer
My interest in achievement have dropped, while my interest in killing has increased. Being part of the MUD so long has made measureable achievement less desirable to me, while years of maturing/mellowing has made my PK failures less bothersome. Because my failures are less bothersome, I'm more willing to engage in it, and am also slightly better at it. I would also say my interest in Exploration has increased from when I started.. when I started.. the whole mud was confusing and daunting and I just wanted a character with 'gate' so I wouldn't have to bother. Once I learned the ropes, exploration became more desirable.

In the beginning, I wanted to just be involved in the creation and design of the game. Honestly...one thing I wanted for ####ing ever was an emote when something assists (screams and attacks you), and another for wiping the dirt out of your eyes. Tiny little things that to me make a huge difference.
My goals and contributions have changed dramatically, but always I just want to keep making the game better. People look back with rose-colored glasses, and I look back and think how ####ed up and unbalanced it all was

I couldn't fairly say what really got me started. It's been a long time. Let's say a desire to make and play a better game.
My earliest contributions were in the form of game mechanics / balance changes. I spit out a lot of ideas and for the most part they seemed initially to be ignored; eventually I realized that the Powers that Be had come to decide I wasn't a complete tool and had started implementing some of them.
Since then, I go through phases. Sometimes I'm into area writing, sometimes quests, sometimes running a cabal and/or religion and doing that kind of interactiony thing, sometimes I want to do a big project like a revamp, sometimes I want to implement smaller projects or just fix up existing code. Sometimes I just want to play one or more really cool/fun mortals.
>2. If you were to chart yourself as an Achiever, Explorer, >Killer, or Socializer (from the Bartle test or derivative) >where do you fall? Have you perceived a change over time?
It's been a while since I took the test, but I want to say it ranked me in order: Killer, Explorer, Socializer, Achiever. The whole achiever paradigm doesn't much appeal to me, but I enjoy the other three aspects a lot, with some characters exemplifying one more than the other two.

I wanted to be the imm who specialized in immteraction. I always enjoyed getting the good immteraction as a player and thought there should be more. Very little has changed for me. This is a good thing. I find myself still enjoying interacting with the players. Every once in awhile, I have to deal with same lame crap, but, doesn't everyone? I have met the reasonable goals I have set for myself and know my strengths, weaknesses and limitations. I try not to stretch myself thin so that I can keep a fresh perspective. > >2. If you were to chart yourself as an Achiever, Explorer, >Killer, or Socializer (from the Bartle test or derivative) >where do you fall? Have you perceived a change over time? I could fall into any of these categories. If anything, I have softened a bit from the Killer perspective. I haven't had a hero in a year and he was a loner for the most part who only killed people who were considered tough. I left the bulk of my pk range alone. I do my socializing playing as an immortal. This is another of those don't stretch yourself too thin things. I haven't played a truly social type character since I imm'd. That isn't to say my characters have been totally anti-social. Just more of the types you would expect to not have many friends, but would talk to anyone who wished a conversation. Exploration was something that I did a lot of pre-imm. I think being able to put in 1500 hours a year plus some mortal time is achievement enough to consider me an achiever. > >

My goals were to do quests, interact a lot, and run a cabal. Overtime I've pretty much been doing those things, though I started out a bit more involved in area stuff, but no so much anymore.
I think of myself as a Socializing Achiever, though I've never taken the test to which you refer. I've probably become a little less social over time for various reasons. Nothing bad, just sometimes I wanna be on and watch followers, cabal folks and generally avoid chatter that doesn't apply to those two things.
