Fire and Lightning aren't great choices against a maran storm giant.

Maybe 2-3 hours is exaggeration (delusional factor and such), but I can't confirm or deny it either. It is possible.

I generally don't come to retrieve if I can't retrieve. I mean if I don't see any significant chances to retrieve (because there is always a minor chance if you are afk, for example).
To retrieve from the Fortress I need to kill the outer guard. That is obvious.
If I have a maran marshall whom I can't make running (not ready for that yet) and whose first command will be driving me away (she always doing that), to have significant chances to retrieve I *have* to fight the outer without fighting her at the same time.
Considering that a maran can cry to the outer guardian I don't see how I could make that setup.

Actually, I could prepare and try several times until catching you somewhere far from where you can't cry. But I had no barrier until 220 hours, so I could only make limited number of attempts.
If you're saying that "just two of us online that were enemies" and you don't really have many enemies that aren't also my enemies, it is possible that there were no other enemies online and in this case it's safe to assume that you are hunting me or at least keep yourself prepared for me to come. Probably there were bored outlanders online too.

I guess I was thinking something along these lines and thus didn't show up.
