I too think it is faulty roleplay for a sylvan to have a treaty with a thief but there was something that we both desperately wanted that was the cause of having a truce.

The thing I never liked about sylvan is that the rp is not consistent. I understand that they are wild creatures and do not have a set rule that they all abide by and I would not expect them to either.

But here is the thing...

IMHO

A sylvan should attack an assassin or a thief on sight. Those two classes are the epitomy of society. Both are creations of civilization.

And dwarves! I tried to bring this topic up in rp with sylvans but I never got a satisfying answer. Let me explain...

The very core of dwarf society involves defiling nature. Stripping away at a mountain to unearth metals is something that is nothing short of an evironmental catastrophe. When I brought that up to a sylvan the answer I got was "Not all dwarves are miners" I took that to mean that they agreed with my idea but werent going to start attacking dwarves because not all dwarves are miners. BUT BUT sylvans attack people for affiliating with drow and duergars......hmm. I think the chances of finding a dwarf who never affiliated with his dwarven mining kin would be slim to none.

In retrospect this probably should have gone on the gameplay board.
