Chapter 2

Background: Born in the typical fashion in Seantryn Modan, Aurtu forcibly
extricated himself from the still quivering, bloody abdomen of his dying
mother through Will alone. His handlers intended to use him as a stud to
create more minotaur servants. Upon reaching adolescence, they began to bring
Aurtu women with whom he could breed. Most of whom they brought, however,
were the dregs of society: whores, runts and malnourished beggars. To add
insult to injury, the handlers picked and chose which of the minotaurs would
breed with these filth based on favoritism rather than strength and power.
The result was a weak, mewling waste. Though Aurtu himself sired many young,
all were weak in his eyes due to poor stock on the female side. The well-fed
and beautiful courtesans who associated with the handlers were strictly
off-limits, frustrating Aurtu to no end.

In a rage, the minotaur escaped his confines, killing several of his
handlers. One, he found in the arms of a courtesan whom he had admired
greatly. In a savage lust, he forced himself upon her with the intent of
starting a new, pure bloodline that very night. Perhaps it was the exuberance
in his newfound freedom, or perhaps her poor body was not worthy of the
strain... either way, Aurtu's bloodline was not to be continued that day, as
the woman died during the ordeal.

With a bellow of rage and triumph, Aurtu stalked off into the night.
