Chapter 1

Background
Back in the second age at in an Underdark settlement which the svirfenebli
Hrakesh lived in was attacked by a flock of displacer beasts created by the
chaos archmage Zanterton the Foul. As a last resort to save the younglings of
the settlement the present mages cast a complicated spell turning the
children into stone statues. The rest of the village eventually fell to the
displacer beasts and was never recovered.

Ages later the dark-elven sorceress Kteng passed by the now ruined settlement
in search for components for her golems. The combination of her channeling
from the negative plane and a thin veil that night began to unwrap the spell
that kept the Hrakesh in his statsis. Years later he finally broke free
though to him it seemed he had just been put there.

Through sheer luck and an affinity to speak with the stones Hrakesh managed
to reach the surface and sought training at the local elementalist guild.

Goals
Find and destroy any remnant of the ancient chaos archmage Zanterton the
Foul, and any of his equals.
Grow in power comparable to Zanterton so that he may be defeated. Do it in an
orderly fashion.

Personality
Dry, orderly and precocious. Sparks to life when he can speak of systems of
interlocking activities.
