Chapter 5

My heart, my soul, my life for the Empire. These are the words that every
imperial recites, and it is this ideal that Dezmonthal Ergo'Zarindar expels
with his every breath. It has come to his attention that the Imperial Shadows
are much more than simple thugs, much like the Imperial Blades, they are the
eyes and the ears of the Empire. Knowing what is happening in and around the
Empire is the supreme power of the Imperial Shadow.

Under deity decree blades were to strike down any Tribunal wavering from the
protected cities of Thera, it was during this Blade-Tribunal war, Dezomonthal
recruited the Justiciar of Thera, Thmauddhot, to inform him of everything
that transpired within the Spire. After garnering the information on the
Spires stance he would whisper of what transpired within the Palace, for a
price, forging a very strong alliance in the war to come. The Shadows and the
Palace would be protected from the Tribunal even aided should it be needed,
but the blades were to be assassinated without remorse, which pleased
Dezmonthal. As the war continued, a new Emperor rose in the ranks of the
Palace.

Now was the time to act upon the position of Shadow Lord and Dezmonthal began
recruiting supporters. He had the Spire sealed, yet he was in need of the
thugs word of confidence, the Imperial Blades. He came across a choice piece
of information which was very important to the Betrayer Blade, Arkhan, in
this Dezomonthal gained yet another vote for the position he coveted so
dearly.
