Chapter 19

The paladin's code governs my life, of that there is no question.
However, my sphere and my race are almost as important, and so
I have taken a vow never to speak to anyone who does not follow my same sphere
or who is not a fellow dwarf. While the code binds me to service and honor, I must
reconcile that with my vow never to speak to people outside my sphere or race.
I shall still always assist those who require or ask for my help, as all paladins would.
However, my vow of silence means i will do so without giving any indication to them that i
am coming if they be outside my race or sphere.
I have learned to communicate through gestures with non-dwarves and people outside
my sphere, as my voice is reserved for those as righteous as myself, which are all dwarves
and non-dwarves of my same sphere. I have nothing against other spheres or races, and will
adventure with and assist them as I can, but speech is not necessary and so
my voice is reserved only for those who are worthy to hear it.
My vow of silence and purity thus made, I set out into Thera to help where I may
and aid all those who need it. And in doing so, I shall uphold the honor of the dwarves and the paladins both.
