What about those of us who have been trying to reach you with our items? Can we send you a note of them so you believe us, holding on to them for a week already, worried another week may lose them! Thanks!

All that business was dealing with Tellik (as it was a Herald even), if you couldn't make it to the contest end then you didn't get to hand them in. I do need to hand out some minor rewards to 3rd place winners (just some xp).

So you take three days getting things and dying and all that and just because you can't be there it's worth nothing? The point was to get things and hold them for a few days. I could understand if you said you can't hand them in earlier, but holding them longer should be as good if not better. The notes from Tellik said it was all about getting people to explore and go places. Why should having a family obligation that kepts me from being online at the time make the items that were obtained and held any less worthwhile?

I'm sorry but this is crap.

I took part in that quest and I'm not getting anything for it.

It IS about the adventure, exploration etc. It's not about getting yourself an extra edge. You can't really argue it both ways.

It's not about getting anything for it. It's about handing them off to show you did it. Finishing something you started. Exclusion for no good reason is bad. It's not like the rites or some other event that needs an outcome right then and there and only those there can participate. This was a go get stuff and see what you can get over time thing. Not being there at an arbitrary time to hand them in isn't the same thing, especially when you're ready to give them later, not earlier, which was part of the point (holding onto the things for the duration).

Did they say at the start that you had to hand things in at the end, and specify when that was?

You are saying that the organisers don't know the point of their own contest!

It's a lot easier to hold stuff if you avoided the bloodbath at the finish.

It's a lot easier to get the limited items now that they've been sacced.

The fact that someone is even running events is great; even better that
Neltouda decided to take time from her busy schedule to hand out prizes
when she certainly had no obligation to do so. It was a mortal-run event
and thusly everyone could have very well ended up with nothing. If you
disagreed with the rules of the event, I suggest you take it up with the
organizer IC.

Like I said to Daurwyn, it's not about getting something, it's about being allowed to complete it and hand over the things you went and got at a lot of personal sacrifice. Like finishing a marathon. There's no good reason not to do that.

If you seriously want to cry about something that is NOT run by the immortals and does not have a garaunteed prize for winning it because it is a Mortal run event then don't freaking do it! Don't bitch at an immortal that is rewarding some people when they don't have to do anything at all. It's a freaking game and chill out about it and don't gripe about petty bull*hit. Suck it up and shut up.

I stopped participating in all herald events, Imm or otherwise for similar reasons.

If you are going to have competitions then the rules need to be plainly laid out. If they aren't I think it best to err in favor of the player.

It's been my experience though that rules or not, the events aren't worth spending an hour emoting for 400 to no exp.

Things may have changed but I'll never no.
