Something I've noticed since the institution of the last name option is that a lot fewer people have fun and interesting titles. Almost as though with the advent of last names, imms have lost the creativity and/or desire to title people. I fondly remember the "old days" when, because there was no last name option, imms came up with titles for people all the time.
Obviously you haven't actually lost any creativity. But I think you the imms have forgotten that just because someone can put in a desired last name doesn't mean you should be reducing the use of titles.
After all, who will ever forget a certain paladin who couldn't find his ass with two hands and a torch? Or a particular elf who held grudges, and was an assembler of armies?
