It means that it is transparent. Transparency on objects has barely any effect on anything in the game.

I grepped the source, found it in one file that deals with AC and associated skills and didn't look any further. So I suspect something dealing with the armor related skills.

Probably can't deflect blows with a piece of armor that's translucent. May count as zero-AC for the purposes of nerfing incoming cranials? Probably can't be dented either.

I want to say it's that light damage can't be armor-deflected with transparent armor.
