#3041, "Mobs and saves"

Is there any way that mob spells would get checked based on player saves?

thanks

Are you trying to say you should get a normal saving throw when a mob casts a spell on you? 'cause you do...

And if you're trying to say something else, I can't begin to fathom what.

For example, mob assassination works different to player assassination.

I also get the feeling that certain pwk'ing mobs leave you without a chance to save.

You can save against those mobs. Certain factors might make it difficult, but nothing specific to just them.

Sorry, I was slightly PEE'd at the time (being plagued by a level 10 mob with divine saves doesn't make much sense to me..) but I wondered if there was actually a check on mobs for savign throws. Almost every mob I have ever met has always casted spells on me successfully, regardless of level or regardless of my saving throw.

I hope that explained it better

1) You're vastly exaggerating.

2) In the vast majority of cases, it doesn't matter who is doing the casting, beyond their level. Note what this implies about ranking.

3) No saving throw is 0% and no saving throw is 100%.

4) Wait until you aren't "PEE'd" if that causes you to post things that no one is going to be able to figure out.

Surprisingly, I'm not exaggerating with my example. if you wish, I will begin to save a log of mobs casting spells on me successfully, and then I can send it to you to puzzle out - frankly, I don't understand? What I'm trying to say is, are mobs being able to spell me up when I have (or should have) sufficient saves a bug or is it by some design?

Something like saving vs. spell is such a fundamental part of combat mechanics, you can safely assume that after (what, 9 years?) that it's by design.
