Yes, this is going to be a whine. Immortals, do you mind changing the cranial skill back to the way it was? If its needing to be downgraded, then could you perhaps :
1) Tell us about it, so I never pick maces again? D:
2) Give mace specs something in the way of usefulness.

We all know the two best (and useful) skills in the mace spec tree is Boneshatter and Cranial. Now unless Drum starts lagging people, I am never taking mace again. Why? Because its useless..

When I saw a fight on the unofficial log board of a mace spec duergar not being able to lag an invoker.. it kind of disheartened me. I really don't see a reason why Cranial should be changed. It can permalag, and if people find that overpowered - then tweak it, but don't absoutely kill it. If cranial is changed the way I THINK it is, then maybe they should start changing other lagging skills.. (I'm not giving any ideas here ).

If I want to one round lag people with a mace, I'll take backhand and use the extra 40 hp damage involved.

Thanks Imm's!

>It can permalag

Actually, it can't, and never could, but that's neither here nor there.

As far as I know the only tweak to cranial was the fixing of a bug that was in it forever. It never was supposed to be a 100% success rate. It's good (even still!) but it's not flawless.

And his beef is that it apparently (I don't have it, nore have I had it used on me recently) no longer lags the way it used to (like trip), but rather seems to lag like crap (one round).

It can still lag like trip. It can also however lag like crap. There are factors at work there out of the control of the cranialing warrior.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I don't know these factors, so I can't really say much. However, I've heard (and it also seems) that the one big change is that it doesn't lag for 2 rounds anymore because of headgear (!?) If this is true, I fail to see the point of using it all. Who doesn't wear helmets nowadays? D:

The only thing I want to be able to do is to be able to effectively lag someone, because I know even 100% cranial's can miss (depending on size etc). If it only lags for 1 round now, I really don't think its useful at all, other then in a gangbang. With the new gangbanging code on top of that, I think its just completely useless now. Could I get clarfication, maybe I have just been really unlucky with the way luck runs in the MUD?

Thanks Imms!

First round: drum
If they are writhing or convulsing after that, bash, trip, or cranial.
Then you could always say you used drum in a PK, right?

Bizarro I'm helping!

Most arials, for one. Also people wearing the engraved silver circlet, headdress of galadriel, circlet of the living seas, pearl crown of the tritons, circlet of cold steel, great crown of the svirfnebli, etc. So, lots of mages.

It could also be that we're not fully informed as to what makes cranial act crappy. It could be the AC of your opponents headgear, regardless of whether it's a full helm. It could be their headgear's material with some offering more protection than others. Or it could the weight of their heeadgear. Who knows? Not me.

I'm not sure I understand how something can lag less than trip does, which I alway considered two round lag. Any less seems like no lag at all. Lagging someone "one round" seems to imply they get to enter a command every round, which is pretty much what they could do anyway if you weren't even there.

Trip, what I call "two round" lag =

{you trip them}
{they enter a command}
round
round
{their command goes through}

Maybe I'm missing something or am just horribly misinformed. Please correct me if that's the case. I hate being misinformed.

I can imagine 1 round lags changing the order of whose commands go in first...

Similar to if trip lags you two rounds and them to rounds it can look like this:

{You trip them}
{They enter a command}
round
round
{Their command goes through}
{Your next trip goes through}

One round lag could do the same.. only taking one round to do it.

Then again this could be completely baseless.
