'who empower'


Just something simple I was thinking about. Considering you can tell the "tune" or whatever of your sphere enough to do "who sphere" it would make sense that a priest could feel the use of power by the same god who empowered him/her. "Who empower" would list all other priests online who were empowered by the same god as the priest using the command. Tattoo-wearers might be able to use this as well, but the reasoning doesn't seem as clear there.

Nothing big, but a neat little perk of going through the trouble of empowerment, and a way to find (possibly) like-minded folks.

The person who empowered you might not have anything to do with the religion. There are instances where someone might ask another Immortal to cover a mortal that they have difficulty finding.

Now, we sometimes store a name on empowerees that creeps into some of the newer echoes. This is probably a better solution than "who empowered you". However, this is not always done (so your idea wouldn't work for everyone), and sometimes it's different for different members of the same religion (so followers of this religion would be very confused).

In short, it's not a bad idea, but it ends up being impractical.

Well, that's a reason I hadn't considered. However, since you say there is a way to store a name, that's used... would it be alot of effort to always use this spot (or another one if necessary) every time a character is empowered, instead of just sometimes? Even if it took six months for the command to be completely useful, that's not that long in cf time. Not to mention, does each imm really have *that* many empowered priests around, that they couldn't track most of them down and make the quick(?) change?

It's not really that. More that people don't always store their immortal character's name there, nor do they necessarily want all followers to see the same thing. I think the flexibility this gives outweighs the small benefit of the command you're suggesting.
