#2791, "Avalanche"
|
I've been playing an invoker lately and have of course noticed the nerfing done to avalanche. While I may agree that it could possibly have been too powerful before it got nerfed, I think the tonedown was a bit much. I have a hero invoker now and even in the mountains it would be among the last spells I would use. It doesn't hit nearly as hard as the other two rounder spells, and with the two round lag it's lagging ability is reduced to such a degree that it's worthless unless you have someone else bashing them. I'd propose either making it hit as hard as a nova/pillar/cone or reducing the casting lag back to 1 round and make it hit as hard as say a buffet.
Just my 2 plastic cents, Jarold

How I love the term nerf. I however have yet to see it used in a correct context, but when I do, I'll let you know.
>While I may agree that it could >possibly have been too powerful before it got nerfed, I think >the tonedown was a bit much.
Because a 1 round spell, that can do 2 rounds of lag to everyone in the room isn't overpowered? Seriously...can I have some of the drugs...please?
>I have a hero invoker now and >even in the mountains it would be among the last spells I >would use.
While it doesn't have the disgusting killing power it used to, it is still a viable solution in the mountains.
<whine> >It doesn't hit nearly as hard as the other two >rounder spells, and with the two round lag it's lagging >ability is reduced to such a degree that it's worthless unless >you have someone else bashing them. </whine>
Translation: I can't permalag people in the mountains while dealing disgusting damage and get all the phat loot as easy anymore.

I don't see it going back.
>Just my 2 plastic cents,
Too bad you can't spend those here.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I've done quite a bit of damage to some zombies in the mountains with that spell, and I must say, I thought it was very nice. I might check again but I don't think it's at all, worthless.
