You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#21650, "Ranger idea"

Either as an edge or an additon to rangers:

Similar to how Druids get various herbs in different wilderness areas. Allow the Ranger to make staff/spears from different trees in different wilderness areas:

If an edge - Woodcutter's eye.
In this terrain you can see oak and beech trees.

fashionst <oak>
Your oak staff is heavier than beech but has a higher average damage,

Fashionst <beech>
The beech staff is lighter with a lower average damage but is more flexible and is of better use in disarming foes.

Other examples could be pine with sticky sap so harder to disarm and a thornspike to occassionally prog to cause bleeding or twisted swamproots that can cause poison.

Each of these could be balanced in power by averages, weight and duration before they crumble.

Just a thought.
