STAND FAST
When using a polearm, a zealous fighter may attempt to brace himself against foes attempting to force their footing onto weaker ground. Attempting to drive, shove or otherwise move such a warrior may result in a painful blow as they plant their weapon against your momentum.

HALTING STANCE
While lacking the skill and precision of a master with a polearm, zealous warriors can learn to use its length to halt attacks made by visible foes as they strike at them.
(cheap chargset, if even a bit of damage seems 'too much' then simply make it 'no damage' but you ward off their initial attack and they're lagged as they regroup)


Believe it or not, these came to me when I woke from a dream I can't remember. Now I know I play this damn game too much :s

if only because polearms are otherwise a fairly redundant option for the classes.

I can't think of a reason in hell to use polearms except with Ap's. Possibly.

If I've roleplayed my arse off for some edgeness, then I could hit up these and get some defensive bonus to using it. Situational, but handy none-the-less.
