With all the changes that have happened in the melee of the game berserkers I feel have taken the shaft at hero. At least in reguards to fighting mages I feel defenders and scouts are a lot more effective at the higher ranks.

How about for high level berserkers they get a hit on everyone hitting them if they are thirsting and aiming at a mage.

I don't think that berserkers have gotten the shaft at hero. I think they are still a viable option, but much like everything there will be times where the choice is not the optimal one.
