#246, "Invoker edge request"
|
Acidic secretion is the strongest of the touches in terms of potency, and as a drawback (my understanding) doesn't work if you wear anything on your hands.
Would it make sense to provide a benefit edge that lets learned Ooze masters negate the drawback and be able to wear things on their hands? The added utility benefit here seems on par with the existing invoker edges and I can't imagine it being overpowered or abused in any way.
thx.

It has nothing to do with overpowered or abused...if you have acid squiriting out of your hands and they are inside gloves, the gloves are going to get destroyed eventually, and until they are destroyed they aren't doing jack to anyone you hit. So long, and thanks for all the fish!

The realism you're describing explains why acidic secretion wouldn't work and reinforces that the other touches shouldn't work with gloves on either.
Shocking touch should even backfire on an invoker wearing metal gauntlets, burning touch would melt any gloves much faster than acid, and frost fingers would shatter gloves into little pieces.
So if realism holds true.. maybe make none of the touches work with gloves on, or, for the sake of gameplay, let all of them work with gloves.
This isn't burning me inside to see implemented so feel free to move on to more important projects, but I would like to see where the realism/funstick equation nets out on this one.
