You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#222, "Upgrade Imbue Weapon?"

Have Imbue Weapon work like the conjurer's servitors... The more of your life/mana/moves you put into the imbuing, the more powerful the weapon is, and (POSSIBLY) how often and/or how much it heals?

Why would you ever do anything other than use your full mana every time? There is zero drawback to this, and imbue is just fine the way it is today.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

You could add a consequence of losing your imbued weapon to cause harm to the ranger, similar to an a-p's unholy. So if it was weaponbroken or disarmed/sac'd, it'd cause a good bit of damage to the ranger. So, the more imbued it is, the more damage taken when loss, but also the better the healing, more frequent the special progs, and more the hit/dam.

That would add more strategy in fighting against rangers, too. Get rid of the weapon.

Which has already been rejected and then there would have to be a way to give rangers the equivalent of Spiderhands or the Iron Grip that Anti-Paladins get.

#226, "battlerager rangers"
In response to Reply #1

How about giving battlerager rangers a downgraded skill that puts some bonuses into their weapon? I know battleragers get powers to compensate for not using magic, but rangers are the only battlerager class that loses spells taught in the guild.
