But they do suffer the same penalty as someone trying to fog you from out of range. So long, and thanks for all the fish!

as a ghost you can't word, heal, protect, or do virtually anything benificial to an in range character because its considered unfair for someone to have an invincible ghost as backup.
except for when it comes to revealing... sure they are not as good at it but under what plausible circumstance would it be ok for an invincible character to be able to potentially hamstring an in range character, this can def affect rangers, transmuters, assassins, thieves, or anyone who might rely on stealth and there is absoultly nothing they can do about it.
It just doesn't seem to fit in with all the other changes you made to ghosts at all, let them hit npc's just not pc's as a ghost cause there should be no reason they need to reveal a pc.

Like Laxxman supports, Ghostly PC's have been almost entirely restricted in affecting living PC's in every way positive/negative, from healing to stealing. However, Faerie Fog being on of the most castrating abilities in the game for half the classes, just seems very innappropriate for a ghost to come racing back and start fogging you out because he's upset he died and wants to "get you back" somehow.
Penalty for fogging out of range, or fogging as a ghost.. what, I have to fog twice? Honestly, spamming a few extra purple pills or roots is hardly what anyone can call a penalty.
If there is a vague reason you're not getting at, please tell me, but saying there is a sufficient penalty just isn't explanatory. Especially considering how detrimental being fogged out can be, having a higher save which really is not making a difference (from what I've seen and done) just doesn't add up.
What benefits are you protecting? Or do you just not want to change it.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Santa Zulg stuff, I think it's great, it's awesome, but this just doesn't make sense to me. Help?
