You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#52, "An update on the Imp."

For those of you who were wondering about my absence, hopefully this will be enough to answer a few questions you may have.

First off, my absence has had absolutely nothing to do with the staff, their policies or the people behind the green curtain. Those who are there and have been there for the past 6 six years, I got along with very well. If anything, they had to put up with me, not the other way around.

This goes the same for the player base. I started playing this game in 1994. After seeing behind the green curtain, I can assure you that the staff really does have your best interests in mind when they incorporate everything.

To be quite frank, I truly miss being an immortal and player. My time is just not available to do these things right now.

The quiet had to be done, as attorneys, patents, technology, etc. were all involved.

The good news is that as of earlier this month, all patents, rights, attorney costs etc. went my way and are complete. For those of you in the know, sorry it has taken so long. Again, the quiet was sort of forced from a legal aspect.

For those of you who didn't know, I have been working on a product to help prevent child abduction and inadvertent child abandonment (leaving kids in cars). As the sole owner and named inventor of the patents and having them to provide for laws that have now been passed, my time is being taken up by the Senate, Congress, huge corporations, foundations, charities, organizations and the like. It leaves me very little time for anything else.

I have listed a small bit of information on Facebook. The keyword search is Kidsaver. Mind you, what is on there is all that I am allowed to put on there at this time. I can answer some questions, but feel free to join the group. If any of the staff have a problem with this paragraph, feel free to delete it. The last thing I want to do is to redirect people away from CF.

As busy as I am now, including mention on quite a few TV shows and newscasts, I don't see my playing time happening any time soon. For that I apologize.

Take care and I hope to speak with you all again soon.

I don't or won't have as much of a story for absence, but your lack of presence has certainly hampered mine as well. It's been nearly a year myself since I've played much of anything, and you and yours come to mind whenever I do get that itch to get back into my little monsters.

I wish you well in your endeavors, and hopefully, if either of us are back anytime soon, our paths cross again. Walking in your limelight has been the apex of my CF career by far, and there's a
place in my mind and heart that will always be reserved for the passion and experiences I've gone through in playing out what I see
as your markings and way of life in CF.

Good luck Lyr

Have you shaken hands with the president himself?

I'm glad things are going so well so far.

As for CF, we miss you (but completely understand) and you'll be welcome back whenever you're able!

No need to apologize for anything, you were great to have around and now your time is being put to something very very worthwhile and hopefully it will work out and help a decent amount of people.

I personally applaud you sir, thank you.
