#153, "I turn one down"

The character deleted afte this, so I left the name in thinking it wouldn't matter much. I like to think of myself as fairly easy for empowerment but we need to connect at least a little. I don't require people to be cookie cutter to get an empowerment, but I do ask that you make it fit in SOMEHOW! Ok, I know I'm defending myself because I always feel guilty when I turn someone down.

It's also worth noting I'll pretty much always turn you down if you come to me with the little girl possessed by something evil role. Always. That role makes me shudder and you'd all be amazed how many times it's been tried.

SO, here you are:

Annja has arrived.
Annja curtseys low revealing a deep smile.

You say 'Hail, Annja.'

Annja looks at you.

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'Warm tidings to you, Essence of the Jaguar.'

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'I do not to uproot you from the peace of your jungle.'

You say 'My way has little peace, Annja.'

You say 'The very idea is strange.'

Annja pauses, a thoughtful look on her face.

Annja raises a hand to the jungle about her.

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'What I meant was...'

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'Intrude.'

You say 'No, that is why I am here.'

Annja silently lowers herself to the ground.

You say 'Well, what brings you to my Ruin, then?'

Annja crosses her legs within the moist soil admiring the staggering height of Baerinika.

Annja says to you 'Many things.'

Annja says to you 'First and foremost I believe I should formally introduce myself.'

Annja stands up.

You nod.

Annja says 'My name is Annja Sitherizyn.'

Annja says 'Child of Cathedra and Iltma Sitherizyn.'

Baerinika rests her spear in the crook of her arm, listening.

Annja says 'I am here today, first and foremost to ask that you may guide there spirits to the haven above.'

Annja says 'They have suffered defeat by the hands of orcs.'

Annja says 'The very creatures who came destroying our land.'

Annja says 'Secondly, I am here bidding your guidance.'

You say 'Why did you pick me for this?'

Annja nods slowly at Baerinika.

Annja says 'For you press forth through times of havoc.'

Annja says 'Ripping a gap with that mighty spear through what evil scorches our land.'

Annja says 'You are a symbol of regrowth.'

Annja says 'Faith, sanctity and purity among my people.'

Annja says 'And to our women more so than anything you are the quintessence of courage.'

Annja says 'My lady, in these dark times we must fit our place understand ourselves and more importantly understand what it is we must do.'

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'I understand why I am here.'

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'Understand what it is I must do...but even so I am young.'

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'I am mortal...'

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'I must learn, must grow.'

Annja says with a soothing undertone 'Must delve within the beaconing light that Thera holds.'

You say 'True, though it is only natural for you to seek a guide for this.'

Annja whispers 'You mean far more to me than you know, it is not simply the wish to bring help and aid to the innocent.'

You say 'Why did you decide to walk the path of a shaman?'

Annja says 'I am no silent benefactor.'

Annja says 'I am the fist of the Righteous.'

Annja says 'I did not choose my path, but humbly walk it.'

Annja says 'It, was perhaps the deepend attunement between the liberty of god, and flesh.'

You say 'I think free choice is always within us, we just have to be willing to sacrifice for what we want.'

Annja nods at you in agreement.

Annja says 'My path, was destined I have had nor think I will hold doubts.'

Annja says 'It gives me a chance.'

Annja says 'To speak more than words, but fight for what I see right.'

Annja says 'I am the fist.'

You say 'What next, then, Annja? How will you complete this plan?'

Annja says 'I must exterminate...purify.'

Annja laughs with a thunderous call both bitter and sweet.

Annja says 'All darkened and imperfect.'

Annja says 'Must be cleansed, and if no other way exterminated.'

Annja combs a hand through her silken hair.

You say 'How do you define that which is darkened and imperfect?'

Annja says 'Whats morality surges in steady pulses of ill thoughts.'

Annja says 'Who moves foward for onesself.'

Annja says 'No matter how many spines and hearts they must break in the process.'

Baerinika shifts her grop on her spear, looking a bit confused.

Annja whispers '...Those orcs.'

Annja snarls deeply mind lost in thought.

Annja snaps back peering at Baerinika's expression.

Annja says 'You must excuse, my mind.'

Annja says 'It can sometimes become subdued by memories, I am far to shameful to utter.'

You say 'I understand.'

Annja says to you 'As for those who lie imperfect.'

Annja says 'Thera was once a natural place, graced by survival of the fittest.'

Annja says 'Before everyone depended on each other.'

Annja says 'There were minute dependance but those were rare to come across.'

You say 'Annja, these are basic primal...and, I have to say, somewhat antiquated definitions of right and wrong.'

You say 'Ones I might think one truly devoted to the savage nature of balance might think.'

Annja says 'You don't understand.'

Annja grips her hair, as memories take her again.

Annja whispers 'All must be cleansed, thera needs change.'

Annja whispers 'The fist the fist!'

Annja whispers 'You must guide, you must hold steady, exterminate move foward.'

You say 'You sound more like a Scarab than one of mine, Annja...'

Annja whispers 'No daughter of mind will be tainted, no daughter of mine at all..'

You say 'How can you say all must be cleansed when you cannot define goodness?'

Annja hand reaches towards Baerinika in an act of help.

Annja facial expressions give way to fear, sorrow and pain.

Annja says with a exasperated note 'Please...you must understand.'

You say 'I want to understand, Annja, truly...'

Annja says 'It is not my fault.'

Annja grips her hair in pain, as confusion holds her tight.

Annja whispers 'I am not my mothers child.'

Annja shakes her head.

Annja says 'Goodness, is understood by so many notes.'

Annja says 'Goodness is a layer within our soul that fuels us in a way unchomprehendable by simple terms.'

Annja says 'Goodness...'

Annja says 'Virtous, pious.'

Annja says 'Goodness holds no simple definition.'

Annja says 'Goodness is and forever will be known as a way of thought.'

Annja says 'It what causes you to decide to do as you do, even when the unthinkable happens.'

Annja says 'It is almost like instinct but far more.'

Annja says 'It is holds many ways, the motherly touch, the bravery of a knight.'

Annja says 'The innocence of a child and the courage of simple man.'

Annja says to you 'I do not come here to exterminate, no no no, that is what was hammered into mind.'

Annja says to you 'I am here to perserve by any means.'

Annja says to you 'To come again, I believe I became a shaman not because it simply happened or it was destiney.'

You say 'It is your 'any means' that worry me.'

Annja says to you 'It was to be the voice for all the innocent, for myself and for the mute.'

Annja says to you 'To preserve and nuture, to instill faith.'

Annja says 'By any means, is whatever my body mind and spirit can.'

Annja says '"My means"'

Annja says 'Hold no ways that press my soul into exterminating itself.'

Annja says 'I will fight, speak, pray to all is righteously perserved till the thought of stepping from your house to be slaughtered by one for the simple tingle it gives.'

Annja says 'These are my means.'

Annja says 'And I apologize oncemore for the fractured mindset, crafted by my mother.'

You say 'Annja, it does not feel to me as though you can meet your drive to purify with what is goodness.'

Annja says 'And why is that?'

Annja says 'I am quite sorry, I did not come with the "Perfect" Mindset, and attitude for the road ahead, but I am who I am.'

Annja says 'And if it was simply that it could be done, without aid, without needing to learn and grow.'

Annja says 'I would not be here.'

Annja says 'There was a tinch in my armor.'

Annja nods at you in agreement.

Annja says 'And perhaps you spotted it.'

Annja says 'The drive.'

Annja says 'I cannot expect that all of those who serve under your spear coming firmly in mind with no flaws, no acts that need to be worked on or learned fully.'

Annja says 'I am a poorly cut diamond, that needs to be refined into acts of beauty and strength it is used to.'

Annja says 'That is when, I am true to purity.'

Annja says 'True to myself.'

You say 'Annja, you are clearly driven to something primal.'

You say 'But, what I stand for....my faith is not this...this driving, overwhelming, savage...thing.'

Annja says 'Overwhelming?'

Annja says 'Savage?'

Annja says to you 'Your beacon rings true through the stars, savage driving...'

You say 'From what I understood from your words, that is how I feel.'

Annja says 'I come here not for this.'

Annja says 'I must learn, extinguish these things.'

Annja says 'These thoughts.'

You say 'Your thoughts seem impure to me, and I do not think I could power such with what I have.'

Annja peers at you intently.

Annja says 'Impure?'

Annja says 'I am mortal, impurity by its standards hold not the standards one as yourself would.'

Annja says 'I am youngling here to learn.'

Annja says 'To craft myself in a steady notion.'

Annja says 'I was locked within a cage for many circles.'

Annja says 'The taint of the orcs have washed upon me.'

Annja says 'But you are the Maiden, the spirit jaguar.'

Annja says 'Purification, by your hands can easily overlight, extend beyond what wrong doing has been done.'

Annja firmly crosses her hands staring at the sky above.

Annja says 'You could not honestly, believe wielder of the spear, that I would come to you untouched by the evils about us.'

Annja says 'I am here to learn how to shelter myself from it.'

Annja says 'By you.'

You say 'No, of course not....I would want you here with your eyes open, ready to embark on a path of purity and courage, ready to fight for that which you would die for.'

Annja says 'And from there I can move foward and set this purification in mass motion, extending a hand to others.'

Annja nods at you in agreement.

You say 'This isn't a place to hide, Annja.'

You say 'No one comes here for shelter.'

Baerinika: arrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Annja says to you 'Yet I am I hold no doubts.'

Annja says to you 'But I am not as pure as an elven born child, that much for sure.'

Iunna: Having fun?

Annja says 'I am who I am, but at any times can be cleansed.'

Baerinika: NO.

You say 'Annja, I am sorry. I truly do not believe I can give you the shelter you seek.'

Annja says 'I seek no shelter Maiden.'

Annja rises undoubtfully.

Annja says 'I am ready, to serve under your will. Submerge myself further amongst my path.'

Annja says 'There holds no shelter within this land.'

Annja says 'I had the chance to run.'

Annja says 'But I did not.'

Annja says 'I never will.'

Annja says 'Instead, I acted on what goodness I held. '

Annja clutches her heart with eyes of fierce ice.

You say 'Annja...you're not understanding me.'

You say 'You have not been able to demonstrate that you understand any of the tenants of my faith.'

You say 'I don't expect perfection, nor the ideal.'

You say 'But I need a basic understanding of what goodness is.'

You say 'I cannot tell you how sorry I am that you have suffered.'

You say 'But I can't teach you to shelter yourself, I can't walk with you as you are the fist that purifies.'

You say 'Perhaps.'

Annja says 'But may I say this,'

Annja says 'What goodness means to me and you, are always deepend by the spectrum and black and white. Goodness is what causes us to move foward, the silent bit that we call upon. For some it spawns courage unmeasurable by simple terms.'

Annja says 'By others bravery.'

Annja says 'But what we do with the goodness, we hold. Is in fact seperates Good from Evil.'

Annja says 'Who am I to say, this person may not hold goodness or the other many not.'

Annja says 'I believe we all hold it.'

Annja says 'For some it hides, for others it stands true.'

You say 'I do not believe that.'

You say 'I need you to go, Annja.'

Annja says 'Than if you will not allow me to understand, your beliefs on goodness.'

Annja nods.

Annja says 'Than I shall.'

You nod.

You say 'I need you to go, Annja.'

Annja says 'Than if you will not allow me to understand, your beliefs on goodness.'

Annja nods.

Annja says 'Than I shall.'

Taking a bad angle at a religion is something everyones done once. Like Daevryn and the 'earth druid' aspect. It just doesn't mesh well with his religion but it's not overly obvious. It's little updates like this that keep us on our toes about looking to mangle religion and roleplay

I had the "rejection guilt" thing too when I was a leader. You're basically screwing someone's goals for their character.

On the other hand, if I induct the guy I highly suspect is a douche then I'm not doing any favors to the players of characters in opposition to my cabal. Somebody's getting screwed either way. Might as well be the douchey guy trying to get into my cabal.

If I ever get into a position again to make decisions like that, I'm going to actively try to be more of a hardass. If I get a bad vibe from someone, no induct for you. I don't care how good your "answers" are.

(Note: easier said than done)

I understand why you wouldn't empower Annja but it was good none the less.
