NOTE: Edited out the Hyllilde spam, the Jaguar room echoes, and pretty much everything not related to the interaction. So if the hours look skewed, that's probably why.

I'll try to track down my other recent Baer empowerees (Llondolis, Kenric) if anyone wants to see them. This one is pretty basic stuff. Enjoy:

And also the turned down one above, I think I tend towards cookie-cutter empowerment interviews.

I don't think there's anything wrong with cookie cutter characters. CF NEEDS the prototypical characters, simply because that's the "norm", so to speak. There HAS to be some Ragers who's villages were burned down, because that's a natural progression into the Village.

Llondolis, for example, was by design a largely stereotypical Elf Paladin Maran. That's pretty much I was going for (albeit with some quirks, and some beliefs taken to an unreasonable level). And I think characters like that are good for CF, just to set a baseline. EVERY hero out there can't be abnormal. If that's the case, then nothing is abnormal.

But what I was saying.. my empowerment interviews always look cookie-cutter I think, even when the character isn't meant to be. I think it's because I try to answer the questions with the "right" answer (with my freshly written role in mind, of course), before I've really felt out the role and started living it.

It's hard, at lvl 7, to have a fully fleshed out character that feels real to the player. In hindsight, it's kind of frustrating. Maybe I'm the only one with that problem, but it takes me at least 50+ hours of playing a character before I think his interactive personality really comes through.

I don't know what I'm getting at. Yuengling is delicious. And empowerment interviews before you really have your character fully developed are kind of... weak, in hindsight.

Fair enough though I think. Like you say you can't expect to have a fully fleshed out character at level 7 and you also can't expect a character to rank up to level 25 unempowered to grow your role. Do what you need to do to get it done and then explore some character flaws/quirks I say.

Its been a long time since I have had an empowerment character but I would say I approach the interviews in the exact same way. My answers are always given through the lens of my current role but they are essentially always attempts at the "right" answer. It personally doesn't bother me, I figure the character will develope and be more unique and interesting when I come back for a 2nd empowerment or for a chat later on in life.
