Well, for what its worth, I hope you enjoyed all the charges I provided for you. I am not bitter to have died to you so much, I suck and I know it. I just wish you would have replied to me a bit, so we could talk some. Instead of the one time you were like "I fuckin' hated meeting you". That kinda set me in a bitter direction for your character. I'll admit I really wish I could kill like you, but I can't as of yet. One day maybe. Anyways, I thought you were well played, and exactly how I would picture a fire giant a-p to be. Extremely mean, and ruthless. The same way I would probably be if I were to run that kind of character. Any chance you would shed light on any past characters of yours, since I don't seem to be in the loop? Good luck on your next, and I really think you ought to roll a dawnie, so you can get that whole peace aspect in focus ;P.

Thror was running a quest with Sargon and some other ragers, I killed Sargon and then this crazy duergar summoned my groupmate and attacked. We killed the duergar after chasing it a while and then Sargon unghosted, so we went after him (he was around the crossroads west of Akan). He ran and hid in Thror's shrine- not knowing it was even a shrine, I bashed him there.
Apparently hiding in the shrines of other gods to avoid PKs is a-ok, because I often found Sargon hiding in a shrine near Tar Valon as well.

I'll start this off by saying I'm not very sensitive about CF. Losing my axe didn't really bother me, but the monumental task of killing 220 more people to get it up there again was daunting to say the least. I deleted in a combination of not wanting to get the kills, and not wanting to regear (after I died to Solmyr, Cabigsnor and Satinka.. don't look for your barrier rod when you should be quaffing). I'm baffled as to why people keep rolling up goodies, it's really creating a pretty boring raid/cabal power scenario.
You recite a scroll of identify. Object 'axe wicked battle two' is type weapon, flags unholy_weapon. Weight is 35 lb 0 oz, value is 219000, level is 49. Material is iron. Weapon type is axe. Damage is 15 to 42 (average 28). Affects mana by 990. Affects hp by 990. Affects hit roll by 120. Affects damage roll by 120.
-- Intronan: I'm sorry I could never devote myself fully to our conversations... but damn, we had some good ones! Jacynth: I'm sorry I had to devote myself fully to one of our conversations. Venorsh: Drow warrior who doesn't quit out when the odds are bad. Nice. You should teach Bessian a thing or two. Malfius: Thanks for deleting so I could live a few more days. Astirath: Thanks for sleeping all of those people. Sorn: I'm glad Asmodeus told me to kill you after I talked about doing it for twenty minutes. Serniae: Well... you outgunned me, outmaneuvered me and outwitted me. Nice job. I still can't believe I died to you solo. It was surprising to see a Fortress person doing some things alone, a nice relief from the usual gang on gang fights. Avoiwoo: That manta ray did more for Scion than anything. Hejduk: You bad. Send me an e-mail at tikar@hotmail.com, we were never meant to be seperated. Don't let big bad Jacynth get you. Zelthinas: I could tell you were a Zulghinlour follower. Landruum: Could you be more of a ##### up?
Landruum **removes** a blindfold. Landruum leaves south. Landruum yells 'Help I'm being attacked by X' You hear someone's death cry.
Lokilith: Nice job with Scions, they're about to go to zero. Sargon: Nice mouth, too bad you never made sense for more than a line. Ambrose: Sweet thing... too bad we could never recreate that moment in the elven vaults. Lisichka: What can I say? Impressive character. Stunning roleplay. To those who will accuse me of permagrouping and whatnot: I'm sorry you can't enjoy yourself. Nazgauga: Thought you age died, was nice running around with you with another character, always a laugh. --

A long time ago I used to play these kill everyone characters (at least try to) and my most successful was a necromancer. I would log on, acid blast, power word kill, group up with people, kill a bit more, and all my interactions with people would be nasty, generally filled with sarcasm and other not-so-nice things.
I remember Twist popping by once and saying something along the lines "If you want to run around and just kill, play Doom.'
Like I was telling a friend sometime this week, the quality of a person's skill, could broadly be based on
1. Game knowledge (explored areas, how to get decent artifacts, wands, etc)
2. Killing ability (self explanatory)
3. Role-playing
4. Contribution to the general game universe
I lump people like Stellyx and Thror into the 3rd and 4th category. Their characters are colourful, distinguishable, and add dimension to the game, and depth. They will always hold a high position in my eyes as people who created something new.
Tikar, to me, you were obviously skilled in 1 and 2. But instead of using your knowledge to bring depth to your character, and substance to the game, and generally just improve the experience of everyone you bump into, you chose instead to just kill everyone you meet. This improves your own satisfaction, probably gives you a thrill to stomp on everyone's head, and then there's that lovely added bonus of chalking up more power to your character's overall killing ability, and then there are the kudos from everyone about how awesome you are.
I look at the numbers on your axe, and all I can do is ask myself, wait a minute, what did this guy do for the rest of the mud? How did he contribute to a more fulfilling experience for others? How did other people (other than the pack rats that probably gleefully took whatever equipment you had from your kills that you didn't need) enjoy the game better because of your presence?
There are tons of people who live their lives at the total expense of others in real life. You projected an excellent example of that, here. But in the end, a bunch of people got together and killed you for it, and you committed suicide because it was too difficult rising to the height you were.
It's a dejavu make-believe story of the real world. Perhaps your next character will be more game-focused and people-focused then 'me-focused', and you won't drop potshots at people you've never even once spoken to in game, but you've already had the pleasure of gang banging and killing with bash bash bash.

>I remember Twist popping by once >and saying something along the >lines "If you want to >run around and just kill, >play Doom.'
Doom is too complicated for me... seriously. All those colors, the bobbing, the people running on and off the screen. Ugh. I just can't cope.
>Like I was telling a friend >sometime this week, the quality >of a person's skill, could >broadly be based on > >1. Game knowledge (explored areas, how >to get decent artifacts, wands, >etc)
If you enjoy knowing these things just to know them, good, go to it. If you enjoy knowing these things to enhance your killing ability, you're like me.
>2. Killing ability (self explanatory)
And if you enjoy this and take lots of time in pursuing it, go to it. It's your call. Have enough roleplay to back it up and talk to some people occasionaly.
>3. Role-playing
Please, enjoy it. I love to interact with someone who has a solid, interesting role. Don't get mad when you have to participate in the pk aspect of things, okay?

What does this have to do with your own enjoyment of the game? If we all do our best to have fun and not be uppity this wouldn't even be an issue (and isn't in my opinion).

You said it.. except for that not bringing substance to the game. I think this character made things pretty interesting at least for the hoardes of people that fought me with organization, and certainly for folks like Bladjix and Leius that brought me down. I'd say I also made it interesting for the people I talked to with some regularity, though of course not the people who just wanted to tell me I was 'going to die when the warlocks had their brand spankin new special power they are researching RIGHT NOW.'
>I look at the numbers on >your axe, and all I >can do is ask myself, >wait a minute, what did >this guy do for the >rest of the mud? Right here you lose it for me. The number of kills on my axe doesn't mean anything except that I killed some people. I also helped a fair number of people in teaching them things, I tried to 'enrich' the game for as many Scions as I could. I'm hoping the two trips I led to Satan were enjoyable for the others along. I'm sorry I couldn't enrich *your* experience, but maybe if you stayed logged on for more than five minutes at a time. . .
>There are tons of people who >live their lives at the >total expense of others in >real life. So you liked my poem? I'm not sure what you're getting at with this whole game-focused people-focused thing. It sounds like you don't like people who successfuly kill a lot but don't participate in pillow talk for an equal amount of time. You should talk to Jacynth. Massive pking does not ruin the game, and if it ruins your fun to be hunted you can just quit out (I think you provide us an excellent example of this, Bessian).

While most of my interactions with enemies were sarcasm filled and pretty bitter, some with people like Intronan gave both players a good laugh and weren't mean spirited at all.
- I didn't say you were, I was merely relating my own experience. I've seen this sort of behaviour in other people and am only sharing that I've done it too.
Doom is too complicated for me... seriously. All those colors, the bobbing, the people running on and off the screen. Ugh. I just can't cope.
- Counterstrike is better. Again, just sharing.

You're misinterpreting the entire point of my message. I hardly ever write in forums, and I don't think I've ever complained. I perfectly understand that part of the game is killing, and that part of it isn't. I've dished out my own, and eaten other people's superior tactics. That's not in dispute.
It is precisely your 'own enjoyment' that you're pursuing which I am pointing out is something negative. You may live in a world where you don't think about anyone else's pain as long as you're getting a kick out of it, that may be the way it is. I'm merely putting an alternative view to everyone's 'You were a great character' opinion, because I take a contrary one. I don't believe there was anything great about your character. Hell, I don't even think there's anything great about Bessian. What I'm pointing out here, and for anyone else who's reading, is that I, and perhaps some other people, don't think that's right, very nice, or the way things should be. Calling it uppity is a lovely sidetrack and misdirection of what it is, and that is, an expression of an opinion. You participate in a game experience that many other people do, and by wrecking it for them, you're saying 'too bad'. Alright, good. adopt that position, its your choice.
- This would be a slightly better defence. I haven't had any interaction with you at all, but from my perspective, you were just another kill kill kill everyone without saying a thing. For somebody who seems to be keenly aware of my logon logoff timings, I find it curious you didn't say a single word to me, or respond to any of my tells.
>I look at the numbers on
Right here you lose it for me. The number of kills on my axe doesn't mean anything except that I killed some people. I also helped a fair number of people in teaching them things, I tried to 'enrich' the game for as many Scions as I could. I'm hoping the two trips I led to Satan were enjoyable for the others along. I'm sorry I couldn't enrich *your* experience, but maybe if you stayed logged on for more than five minutes at a time. . .
- A slightly better defence as well, which is part of what I am talking about. I find it curious that you're defending this point however, when in your previous paragraph your position seems a little different.
As to your comment about logging on for five minutes at a time, like many people, I suffer a love for the character and the mud, and I like to logon in the mornings just before i go to work, or just before i go to sleep. I can usually just stay on for half an hour, or longer. I also logon at lunch time, or when I can steal a few moments. It's ironic that the love for the character is interpreted as logging-off to evade death.
I also suffer from a very atrocious link as I do not mud from the US, and I don't always have speed on myside. Half the time I'm on good speed, the rest I'm either wading through sludge or can't move at all, or losing 'half link' on he eastern, where the mud thinks I'm around and I can be bashed, but I, the player, aren't actually around.
It is these situations which prompt me not to stay about and have to leave. What annoys me is when granted, skilled players like yourself and Drucyrus, raise it as some sort of perennial issue that I constantly do to avoid getting killed. I normally don't really care what my enemies think, but its an unfair accusation that is bordering on breaking game rules which I want to defend.
Having said that, I have attacked you a few times one on one, and been soundly beaten. I know the game mechanics, my character simply wasn't equipped to handle you, the same way some character combinations simply aren't equipped to handle me. However, I do not single anyone out who disappear when I logon, although there are a few, and in any case, who can possibly track the appearane and disappearance of people?
Nevertheless, I have not logged off because I saw your name, simply because I could evade you if I wanted to, and the times you did kill me, I was looking for trouble.
>It's a dejavu make-believe story of >the real world. Perhaps your >next character will be more >game-focused and people-focused then 'me-focused', >and you won't drop potshots >at people you've never even >once spoken to in game, >but you've already had the >pleasure of gang banging and >killing with bash bash bash.

Massive pking does not ruin the game, and if it ruins your fun to be hunted you can just quit out (I think you provide us an excellent example of this, Bessian
- Actually, I think the poem was infantile and further evidence of your kill kill kill nature which you're trying very hard here to dispute.
- I suppose the point i'm trying to make is that being an asshole for your own self interest at the expense of others isn't the right way of doing things. You can either 1) say you don't give a ##### and that's the way you are or 2) defend yourself like you did later on in the post.
- Calling it pillow talk is another nifty little misdirection upon your part. I like the stupid fluffy sweetly sweet connotations it conjures, especially in contrast with the fire giant AP you're trying to justify. I'm not interested in pillow talk, but game substance, roleplay, and depth. I would like to see a fuller, rounder, more complex CF, than one just based around power and killing.
- I also find the little further potshot about me not staying around for more than 5 minutes amusing as well. Yet another attempt to cover your own weak playing style by misdirection into somebody else's perceived fault. Is this how you win most your arguments?
If somebody who plays a character like yours, kill kill kill, and isn't countered for the shallowness it creates in the game, then the game will continue to be centered around the power hungry who want kudos for being super killers. I believe this is why the imms took down the whole 'number of kills' thing from the graveyard, to discourage people from playing the game that way.

After someone kills you, the immediate impulse is to yell at them. If you could keep that impulse in check, Tikar was actually pretty cool to talk to. He wasn't the 'nicest' guy in the world, but so what? I found him amusing, and we had some great talks, and slung some pretty amusing insults. But ones that never crossed the line from roleplay into bitterness.

Not exact duplicates, but I ain't too far off.. hehe, oh yeah trade all *'s for u's =).
SCION Tikar: Get the f*cking Sceptre, now!
Tikar tells the group 'yeah that f*cker's camoed near the Fortress'
Tikar tells the group '(Scion's name) f*cked it up again' Most Inferno-bound Scions know which one he's referring to =)
SCION Tikar: Why the f*ck don't we have the Sceptre?
Tikar tells the group 'If anyone tries to f*ck with me for taking the Tribunal's Scales, I'll f*cking bash them'
Tikar says 'f*cker, he got away'
Normally cussing sounds newbieish and dumb, but it fit your character's persona perfectly. Awesome char.
