It was working as intended.

Just because you could take the edge did NOT mean the edge worked for all of your forms. Just because you have a t1 form that bites does NOT mean this works for you. You should have been using your t2 or t3 it worked for.

BUT I agree that's kinda silly so I tweaked it.

It will now work on pretty much any biting form.
BUT the chances will VASTLY differ between how bitey your form is. So don't expect great success if you're not a big biter.
