A pile of purple dust is here, the grains of the dust are quite fine and
though the total volume isn't that high there does seem to be a lot of it.
It seems likely it could be used for coating things to make them more
visible at night.

A handful of purple dust is a trash, made of plant, and weighs 0 pounds 3 ounces.

Looking at the object's numerical parameters, it doesn't look intended to be used as an ingredient.
