Is it just me or does the empire promote their members much much quicker than the fortress does?

Also it seems the fortress rarely promotes their scribes to acolytes why is this? I see more squires getting promoted than any scribes do, this is of course my observation.

Empire should promote their members a lot faster. It's not uncommon for people in the Fort to spend nearly their whole lives at Squire/Scribe. Also, Empire has a lot more levels then the Fort does, and the whole cabal is based around advances and demotions. Almost everyone has the ability to at least promote or demote someone. Personally, I wait to promote someone in the Fort until I've seen them do something noteworthy. What constitutes noteworthy varies, ofcourse.

There are four times as many Squires/Maran as there are Scribes/Acolytes. You're going to see four times as many Squire promotions.
