#334, "The Virtue of Patience"
|
Hey there Shokai, well after IC rp, notes, emotes, anything and everything I coudl think of to get your attention, I think I even had a few helpful prayors from some sweet Acolytes, not naming any names, cough*Cytherea*cough, but my patience is a virtue theroy doesn't really work that well CF style. Maybe I should have waited a little longer, since there is a Captain around now, but I really wanted to gain admittance through you rather than anyone else. It's hard having your high and mighty leader not be around, cause it sort of makes all that chin rubbing for nothing... just kiddin, I am sure Crenton had an itch at one time, but I guess what I want to say is that although it was a major drag deleting 180 somthin hours, I will still be following under you until I can get the interaction I wanted. Just hope Crentons cousins can wait as long as him and get something out of it. And to add, I am not bitter about it all, but the CF experience I wanted never came, it it IS just a bit discouraging.

First 'the interaction I wanted' No matter what imm you choose to follow this will probably never happen. They are people. like you. People rarely do what you expect or want them to do. Be happy with what you can get.
Second while 180 hours might me a long time to get a praticular kind of notice (induction/empowerment/etc.) you have to keep in mind you are looking for the attention of a god who is sought after by piles of people and has said in this forum many times that he likes to watch what people do for a long time before deciding on them. Go out and do what you do and hope for the best.
Third Keep pluggin' away at it and eventually you will get the attention of whatever diety you are looking for unless RL has pulled them away. (I'm betting any of them that have businesses and procrastinate are frantically pouring through over done instructions on say 1120's see publication blah -read through the whole thing only to find the part that sent you to read it doesn't even apply in your case. Grrrr. oh maybe that's just me. hehe)
Fourth don't make a character who will depend on imm interaction (I have pretty much stopped the sentence there for myself, but..for you...) unless you either know your playing times and the imm's have at least some overlap, or you can be patient enough to wait half the life of the character to talk to your chosen deity. For me sadly, I have pretty much gotten to the point that I just ignore imm interaction unless it is thrust in my lap. A word or two to mobs who speak to me, and off I go. (Though characters of mine will still stop and talk to certain mobs based on thier role, they have never been taken over by an immortal. Which is fine by me.)
Fifth If you do make something that depends on imm interaction. roleplay your heart out. Don't stop because the group you are ranking with complains about it. tough for them. (Don't go out of your way to anger them either though hehe, unless that's the way the character would act.) Talk to mobs as your character would. If you are playing say a dwarf pally, and every time you run across a duergar you say something insulting to them, then quit for long periods, and start up again for whatever reason.. (Imms are suddenly visible, you just got tired of it and then felt like doing it again.. etc..) That looks really bad. Do it or don't all the way.. as mr. miagy(sp?) said walk one side road okay....walk other side road okay... I'm sure you know how it ends for the fellow who tries to do things half-way.
btw- Nimelerion rather liked Crenton. If I hadn't been so busy dying all the time trying to get the orb back, I had planned to 'interview' you and see about sending a note before I died. (I know we talked some and I don't remember whether I sent a note or not suggesting others to talk to you. things were always a little busy for me. If you already deleted... did you ever get in?)

On the day of Crentons fall, it just so happened that Azidreth had made Captain, which I am really happy about, he's a great shifter, that eagle will dominate the skies now. But until that point, Crenton had no one speak from the Fort, despite the numerous missives sent and IC interaction with aiding in raids, etc. I hope Crenton spread the Skyborns wrath as he had hoped, but after waiting for so long, he became unhealthy. Just enough of a reason to discontinue. Well, I know a few of Crentons cousins that will be leaving the Seas to come visit Thera and spread a little more of that N'olat family wrath... But on behalf of Crenton I thank all those that aided him with Fortress matters, even if they were in vain as of now. Almost feel sorry for waisting all you guys time, hope you had fun though everytime you traveled with him. -Just make sure to Strike Swift and True in his absence.happy mudding

Yea, well when you power rank to your finals quick like I did, you tend to have a lot of "sitting around" time to yourself. which I spent praying, helping youngin's learn, etc. Anything to keep a bored giant occupied would be accepted I think.

How much hours it's norm for you to get empowerment? I've tried couple of times to make a paladins, but it's too boring to run around unempowered or sit doing nothing at the shrine.

A huge range, but there you have it. The two biggest factors to influence this is whether there is some overlap in playing times, and your actions.
The former can be overcome by sending notes during your playing times so the imm can either figure out a way to be on at that time or arrange for another immortal to peek in.

I know empowerment can be a bear, but if you're "doing nothing at the shrine" it'll be even worse, honestly.
Just think about it. What does one do at church? Even if it's simple prayer, you can emote and say something.

But When you give a prayers to your immortal time is passing and darkness is closing. So praying at shrine at least a half an hour cann't be harmless deed according to some types of RP. But with RP of Holy avenger you'll be a meatbag pally running around unempowered. So that way you'll drop your con to zero level as fast as it can be done and may be even faster. (flamestrike works bad on fire giants *chuckle*)

Well, try power ranking all you can then, if you are a higher rank, perhaps you might have a better chance at empowerment, it only took me a little while, ranking all the way until I needed more empowerment. Also, your dedication will save your butt a little, with a strike of faith, or perhaps your shield, you can whallop a few badies here and there successfully, hehe, I had two assassins in a row try their best, but two successful strikes made them stiff. They just laid on the ground, not moving, it was quite strange... either way, choose your sphere wisely.

So i think pallyes and such fastlinkreq guys now obsoleted. Pwerbashers on other way looks boring for me. Cause i've got enough exp about low rank PK with bash, vuln weaponry tactics.
