I've had this question itching at me for a while now.

Is it frowned upon for a paladin, shaman, or healer of yours to use mercs? Would it be considered as using slaves?

Would it be frowned upon to use mercs as a good-aligned in general? I've seen a lot of goodies out there using them, but I always thought it was frowned upon and could lead to being scolded or something.

I can tell you that I ran around with a dwarven for 2/3 of my char's so far life. I rp'd him not as my slave, but as a friend who has a cause quite similar to mine. Too many cf'ers dismiss npc's as not 'real' or they're just mobs. It needs to end. A mercenary is as real as you. The kids in balator don't need to die, you should protect them. Just because killing that goblin in silverwood won't get you any xp doesn't mean you shouldn't do it when you walk by one. Also, I recently spoke with an elder maran(cabal) and it was with a dwarven at my side. The dwarven even got to loot his corpse when he got ganged, and he warned me it'd be summoned away soon. It didn't seem like the old rager sense of release that (magically)bound thing or die.
That's my 2cents and maybe it got Shokai unhappy with me...I guess we can wait and see.
