Before I go into this bit, a couple of points. First off, I apologize if my December 1 post was unclear. Hopefully today's post will clear things up. Second, some have accused me of intentionally being unclear or dodging a question. This is not the case. The whole point of what I'm posting here is to make things clearer for the playerbase at large. Third, a big thank-you to Vilhazarog, who looked up all of this stuff about edgepoints in the code for me so that I have the specifics. I knew generalities before, but nothing this specific.
There will be more things about Edge Points that I will be posting over the next couple of weeks. I'm not, however, going to just disgorge every facet of everything. That's not the point of these posts. If that's what you were expecting, you'll be disappointed. If you feel that anything I've posted is unclear (or untrue), please post a followup, or email me, and I'll try to address your concern.
Also, as I stated originally, these posts may contain stuff that you are absolutely not interested in. Tomorrow's post might be a short story. You are free to not read it, and come back the next day (or the day after, etc.) for more tidbits.
Now. Back to edgepoints. Today's post is going to discuss more about edgepoints for pking, and hopefully make things more clear from my December 1 post. Future posts about edgepoints may include how to get them from: Cabal Retrievals Commercexp Explorexp Observexp Immxp

ONE FINAL NOTE HERE - THIS IS IMPORTANT There *may* be changes made to how these work. Specifically, things that have been discussed have been more edgepoint-gaining-stuff to encourage longevity in chars (edgepoints when you hit a certain hour mark, maybe?), REMOVING OR REDUCING edgepoints for Exploration and Observation (to make it less of something that feels mandatory), and so on.
IF WE MAKE THESE CHANGES, I/we will notify the playerbase that a change has been made, and hopefully be as specific as possible.
That said, here's how it works right now. Remember that in my previous post, I said you get edgepoints for PKWins of a certain number - 10, 25, 50, and so on. Those edgepoints have nothing to do with what level you are at. You'll get those edgepoints if you hit 50PKwins at hero, or at level 25.
However, you do gain MORE edgepoints for reaching certain numbers at certain level-tiers. The level tiers are: 11-25 26-35 36-41 42-50 51
You get edgepoints for 5 kills, 10 kills, and 15 kills at each level tier. These edgepoints are IN ADDITION to the edgepoints you already get for hitting 10, 25, 50, etc.
To be more clear, to maximize your edgepoint earning in this method, you want to make sure to hit 15 pkwins before level 26. Then another 15 before level 36. Then another 15 before 42. Then another 15 before 51.
Lastly, for PK edgepoints, you get edgepoints for Solo PKwins as well, at 40 and at 80.

If you're in the same room as the mob they die to you get the killing blow echo. If you're an A-P and they teleport into High Lords or whatever you get charges. I conclude from this that a mob death immediately after a PK encounter is in every way a PKwin.

Although I'm a huge proponent of playing the game at every level, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that this:

Because I would be totally ok with someon only trying to get 5 kills at each level instead of 15. Part of me loves that there is some reward for doing that though.
