I've had one tattoo in my entire 4 years and it was because it was a shaman. But I've always wondered...how can a non-empowered class can be tattooed? It may sound newbish (Not that I am elite) but I've never been able to think of a way to approach an Immortal as a non-empowered character without looking like a moron. What can a non-empowered character can ask for an Immortal really which would be worthwhile for both of them other than 'Give me strength?' 'Ok, will do'

I know it's a short and non-detailed post...but I think the important part is here...I think...thought about it at work.

Priests aren't the only ones who can "have religion". Role-play a non-priest that worships a particular deity. Live out that deity's religion. Pray to them. Visit the shrine. Etc. etc.

and not one of them entailed me asking the imm for their tattoo. Usually if you're deserving it just happens. With Gumbldink, for example, I got Aarn's tattoo and a title while preaching to the arial NPCs in arial city. With Quevea I believe I got Khasotholas' tattoo after sending a note to all of Empire detailing my take on his religion and how it went with Imperial goals. I think I got it with Vinson in much the same way. Just spread the word of the religion and the tattoo will be forthcoming.

I for one think that its actually easier for a non empowered char to approach an imm for a tattoo. Just because as a non-empowered class you are more developed as a char and in your rp when you approach them. Unless you start bugging them at lvl 1, i have had more than a few tattoo'd chars and only one of them was a healer. So there... think more along the lines of character development and what your role is and how it fits with the deity of your choice and not about your class.

In a nutshell - genuine dedication to the faith in both word and action.

When the faith becomes the core of the character its life, and the character's personality a hybrid between the sum of its past experiences and the spiritual revelations it has discovered for itself through the religion in question, you may well find yourself becoming a candidate for a tattoo of its foudning Immortal due to the virtue of unrelenting dedication alone. Even if you admittedly fall short in another area.

That was my experience, at least.
