and putting out fires is a waste of my time in city. I actually abhor running to fountains and pouring water just to do it again. I have made alias to such a boring act.
I suggest rallying up the guards to put out the fires. Somewhat the Tribunal must be at the place maybe 4-5 ticks to put out the fire completely in the room. Command: Extinguish. Put some echos on the process of puttting out the fire after each tick. There is also a chance the fire won't be put out too, with which he has to restart the process. If it is extinguished, he moves on with his guards to another room. Don't need to run to fountain, etc.

Well, try putting out a forest fire and see how much you like that. Fires, while not a hugely powerful thing, are supposed to be annoying and difficult to extinguish. Creating them is also one of the main skills of the evil outlander and can be a very good tactic in some cases.

This is just silly. What would be the point of setting fires any more since they could be auto-extinguished by any lowbie tribunal with a few guards? They wouldn't really have to even put effort into it. I like the idea of having to continue doing it manually. At least its equally annoying to everyone no matter where the fire is started.
I do support the where fire command, though. That is a great idea.

Where He gets (Possibly fire resistant) guards that don't attack criminals but do douse fires.
The Provost could get a Fire Brigade skill where he can call up a mob of people to douse city wide fires.

Finding them is a pain in the ass, especially when they relight behind you.

How about making Tribunals able to draft orderly and neutral PC's to the city's Fire Brigade, which means that the PC's are hired to put down the fire and the city would pay to the PC's according to the number of fires they have managed to put down. This way, magistrates wouldn't have to put down all the fires down themselves and it would encourage more RP between characters because of this matter and it would give some additional depth to the social and maintenance structure of Theran cities. Alternatively, the commission to fire brigade could be taken from a mob in the city's "fire station", practically meaning some guard headquarters.

I think to get paid you'd have to put out fires at a certain rate. Otherwise people would probably leave a section burning and use fightfighting as a cash-cow.

But no one has a problem with the forest burning out of control until next reboot? Seriously, a city during this time period in history would be more susceptible to spreading fire than a green, healthy forest, but no one complains when someone sets fire to them. The fires in the city are meant to drive people out and to greatly annoy the Tribunal and those who have to stay in the city. Its also a good tactic to oust thieves and assassins. Let it burn, stop complaining, or call for realistic fire measures to the whole game instead of what just affects you. <tangent ended>
Besides, I happen to enjoy setting fires. I only wish I could do them up in cabals as well.

But forests burn a long ass time and are nigh impossible to put out. You set a fire on Calandaryl, you're going to have to wait for the next reboot along with Isildur.

If it weren't for them, it would be doable (although I agree it is more effort than it should be).

Not to argue that forests burn 'hooter' (owls are always getting the short end of the stick), in reality, a forest that is healthy and green and receives regular rain would be less likely to burn easily than a city. The reason is obvious. A city during this time would be filled with buildings of dead, dry wood. Excellent kindling. Whereas a forest with green vegetation holds more water in the plants and is harder to burn. That is why you hear of a higher risk of wildfires when there's a drought in the real world. I assume that's what you were somewhat getting at.
I actually like the guy's idea with 'where fire' and such. Although, you have to consider if its within the rp of a character to run around putting out flames instead of chasing criminals, hunting, or whatever.

Letting guards do the work is mainly a shifter point of view, since being in form during the extinguishing process is more convinient(meaning not getting pincered when reverted, etc.). And those damn cities burn every time(especially Galadon). After you douse it, someone else torches it pretty soon. Not to mention that damn park in Galadon that keeps the fire up and spreading for a long time if it's not doused properly.
