#8439, "My little ap idea."

To give AP's that last little boost they need, here's my idea. When they have fire control up, they get a boost to their fireball spell.. ice control, boost to iceball.. then figure out little bonuses for the other ones and i think you'd have a decent class to play around with.. maybe defilement could boost the protection from aura of despair, lots of possibilities though!
Cheers. Jhyrb.

is a protection spell that is not 'protection'. I know APs are supposed to be really offensive by nature but the only successful APs have either been in a perma group or have had lots of protection from a healer or a/b/s. To surivive in CF nowadays with so many people always wanting to gang the AP he/she needs more than a protection spell that can be gotten by every other class with relative ease. I know the Aura od Despair change went in to help against conjurer mobs and that will be of great use as I hated to come across a conjurerd angel left unbound in the chasm when a conjurer came to aid with his archon at his side but could the aura of despair not give a damage reduction to all attacks. It would mean it was only available at a higher level and could even be as useful as wraithform for the necromancer. Just a thought.

It makes APs that do perma or have a pocket healer even that more powerful. If you are going to strengthen the solo-AP, something needs to be done to weaken the AP that relies on a gang.

That would make aps slightly more tactical and interesting, but I'm not sure they need to be stronger.
