I think the second attempt wouldn't work (usually works only third or fourth), so here I didn't even bother to try, hoping vampiric would work (nope, didn't work). In many situations, it would be too late.

As I said earlier, same goes in PK fights, especially vs villagers. They just flee and reengage, and you'll never ever have yourself rescued if they are doing it quickly.

Please check it again.

For a lowbie mage having to eat a full round of combat without being able to rescue is really rough. Especially since you have a cabal of people who get damage reduction, spell deflection and damage multipliers on a stick.

Make Mages Great Again

I've checked, if you attack quickly (not with the spell) and your pets haven't assisted yet, you have a chance to rescue instantly, as it was working before. But it's rather difficult and won't work when someone else attacks you.

You've been attacked. You are now in combat. At this point IIRC you could be rescued by your pets as you can rescue someone without being in combat.

o all rescue FAILS because they are all still in murder lag. Also they don't queue commands, so it just disappears into the ether.

Ok, vamp touch while you wait out murder lag, seems fair... probably 1 extra round before rescue, but it is something.

This is what kills you. If you did a rescue after the first you'd get rescued. Skipping the rest of the log.

Yet it still do not solves the problem and flee-reengage tactics turns pets useless if done right.

So, murder lag to the pets was added recently?

Flee re-engage could be a problem if they are also opening with unblockable lag, but then you (necro) also get the chance to put them to sleep, which is your best option 99/100 times, so they are taking a risk with that tactic. So pets useless... sort of... they still do damage, but you aren't going to get them in front. However, to execute this tactic you have to be willing to run headlong into necro's best tactic (sleep) repeatedly, and if they are willing to do that... either they are dumb, or you should be running the #### away.

Again, I think you can rescue if the zombies are not in combat, so if they opened with non-lagging move, you can (if fast enough) rescue out before the first round of combat.

I don't know exactly when zombies being affected by lag was, but it has been years. It's why you can bash them to death instead of having them flee after 1 hit like they used to always. I imagine, but have no way to verify, that all forms of lag took effect at the same time, so murder lag would be just as old as the rest (4+ years).

I'll try it. But I'll have to spam rescue sitting in the guild, waiting for nightgaunt then? Lol, funny.

About lag, no, definitely not 4+ years. I've been playing necro I think about 1,5-2 years ago and had no such problem. So it's something from the brand new nerfs, I think.

to kill them after the necro has fled and have been doing so since before Krunk. It's possible the murder lag is newer, but zombies have been laggable for at least 4 years.

I also remember when people first started using the constructs complaining about not being able to rescue after they bashed (because they self lagged) so whenever the consortium came in there was self-lag of some type, which is more than 4 years as well.

You want to sleep them, they want to avoid it by attacking, if you both stand and spam there is a good chance you (necro) get sleep off UNLESS svirf dashes.

They get one step away, you move, they dash to a place you aren't, you move back and sleep. They have a pincer on enter trigger, you have a sleep on enter trigger. You get sneaky with an item or race selection.

It's basically just as hard for them to guarantee first strike as it is for you... So yea, I'd try it as a necro, but I'd also have to make sure I can survive one pincer.. after which I could rescue *or* do something with sleep (depending on zombies).
