#66797, "Stormcalling"
|
I put this question on the bugboard but perhaps it belongs here, or both.
Stormcalling is the highest level mariner skill or spell. The helpfile says 'random bolts'. However, all it does is a much weaker pseudo-area call lightning.
At one point it was broken, back around 5 or more years ago. Broken in that it would make someone yell but no damage. Did the fix only address part of the spell?
My impression is that stormcalling should call a storm for multiple ticks that constantly strikes lightning.
Thanks for answering or looking. I'll post about netcasting next after a bit more examination and logging, but I don't think it is broke, just severely underpowered. Perhaps it is due to %, I'm not sure.

Storm calling used to do multiple bolts. Maybe. You don't get a bolt a round or anything.
Also net casting seemed crap when I played a mariner but it can block flee, as well as attacks. It's actually very nice.

It also sticks to the person. If you have teleport denial it could be mean.

Stormcalling never did more than the initial bolt.
Bug or gameplay issue?

you've got call lightning, inherent call lightning and storm calling?
Isn't that enough of lightning bolts?
