I thought we weren't doing massive new rewards anymore?

Now I have to deal with, within a week, a kraken and a yeti. The Kraken can entwine you, just a taste.

The shapeshifters in question are awesome and deserve rewards. One in particular needed a nice offensive form.

The other one already had one. And can do other awesome stuff at you already.

Now, I am not complaining as I can deal with them more or less. But they are a death sentence for anyone who dare reach the rank of 42.

Whilst you are handing out death sentences for people daring to enter hero range, when can I expect my third legacy, I will choose the awesome bash one.

Getting full empowerment for a win, on the other hand which someone else got, is kinda sad.

You should at least rank up to your first legacy, or just stay at 40.

Eh, you might be a little, but that's okay.

Firstly, I'd prefer you didn't take people's rewards (RC or otherwise) to the forums right after they're rewarded. I don't for a second think it's not going to be talked about or become common knowledge, but my opinion nonetheless is that your post is a least a little tacky or without class.

With regards to the question posed in the subject of your post, I'm not sure where you got that idea. There was some discussion internally about RC rewards a while back and I honestly don't remember if that spread to the public forums or not. If so, that makes sense. If I remember right, that was way back in 2013 though.

I think you made a couple of weak points but I'm not going to engage in an argument about it because (as I probably made clear above) I really don't think these are the appropriate circumstances under which to have that argument.

Beyond that, all I'm going to say is that there is no blanket policy that says certain types of rewards are off-limits and your dissatisfaction has been noted.

I want to stress that I mean no ill will to the players in question, they are awesome.

I don't mind RC wins being super powerful, I think its great. It gives me a reason to really work on a role and typically that encouragement and having a really fleshed out role will help me play better.

I just wish OP rewards were the norm for everyone and from one month to another you don't go from 'Give this guy a cabal edge, an edge he can take already, and some IMM exp' to 'Hook this 2 week old shifter ####er up hardcore!'

Everyone is different in their thought processes on this though, including IMMs who run the contest.

Totally agree re: different quality of rewards from one contest/imm to another. Would be a bitter pill to swallow to watch someone else get hooked up the month before and after you get a pat on the back.

I got a reward that is more flavour than power boost. (Two edges I could in theory take anyway. One doesn't seem to work and the other works but does something an active skill would be doing for me anyway. Nevertheless I am really pleased to have had something that adds to the uniqueness of the character, particularly as they were awarded in an ic fashion.

I'd rather not see powerful rewards ever, personally. It seems a little ironic that at the same time as adjusting edges to reduce the gap between have and have nots, people are getting powerful rewards. Unless of course the reward is on a have not, but I'm guessing that's not the case.

Anyway, given that they are now awarded, they should have fun with them. In theory the entwine on a kraken should persist if he leaves kraken form, so without knowing how strong kraken form is in melee, it may be balanced?
