#5786, "Outlander balance, me shutting up."

I went and reviewed Bjai's PBF statistics, and compared them to what I remember of my last 'serious' chars (frumpledunks). They, as far as I remember, are basically identical. So, since I died about as often with an outlander shaman as I did with a svirf dagger defender, one of two things is true. Either a) word of recall and teleport potions didn't help me much, or b) I am better at playing svirf dagger defenders than I am at playing outlander shaman. I think that b) is probably true, and I need to look more to my skill as a player, mechanics wise, than I need to look at Outlander cabal powers vs. trib powers for an answer to why Bjai didn't do as well as I would have liked him to.

Anyways, sorry for the bitching and moaning.

(though I still would have liked to have had insects, Alarian )

The only problem I have with Tribunal is it seems every damned guard in every damned area attacks you when you're WANTED. I mean, for guys that don't recognize the Spire within their city, why would they attack someone who is WANTED by the Spire within their city?

No one wants to harbor a criminal, regardless of city. Besides, the death of a criminal might be worth a reward in the Spire, so I could see a fervent young guard attack on sight. Usually if someone is WANTED, it isn't because of their politics. The guards are right to attack on sight. Though, I do recall one time I played a thief who was WANTED and the guildmaster in Tir Tilath shouted out my presence before attacking. The only tweaking I could foresee would be to stop the shouting in some places, either because they don't want to draw attention to themselves, or because they have the selfish motive to try and kill you themselves.

And let it be said that while I don't personally think the Outlander cabal balance is as skewed as some would make it out to be, doesn't mean we aren't, as always, keeping an eye on things and talking about ways to address what we see as imbalances in any of the cabal war scenarios.

That are wanted all the time like they (IMHO) should be, do have a very hard time. Not only because of tribunal powers and the fact that a couple lowbie tribunals can make it hell for an evil hero to retreive.. But even if you do take the scales, there's a ####load of mobs that annoy you whenever you try to pk in the cities, and on a good day you'll just get dirt kicked at an unopportune moment so that your opponent gets away.

On a bad day, your level 40ish decked out warrior will get killed by galadon gate guards, getting permalagged and losing 950 hps through giant resist... Seriously why do hamsah/galadon cityguards have to be such bitches? I hate them. Galadon was a much better city before the guards were tweaked. And let's not mention hamsah guards + summon.

(And yah yah I know I can enter through a gate at which there are no guards and ####, but speed is crucial when you're about to kill someone and usually there's no time)

And like Larcat I'll say that I haven't been doing horribly with my evil outlander, however in comparison to how my ragers have fared in the past my outlander was/is a tool.

Perhaps a nice neat power called blessing of the earth where your immune to stone weapons and cannot be dirted for a short duration. Not overpowered, can put a suitable limit on its use and can prove very useful at the right times.
