#5657, "Energy Drain and Exp Loss"
|
I'd like to inquire if consideration had ever been given to removing the exp loss on this skill. Seems like this may have been brought up before, but I can't ever get the search to work well on the forums, so I'm not certain.
It seems to me that the exp loss is just sort of an antique, from how the spell was coded back in the old days, and doesn't seem to serve much effective purpose. The only time it seems to have any real effect, is when it happens to drain someone's exp to the point they drop out of the other's pk range, though it happens so rarely, why bother? I certainly don't believe anyone out there is thinking to themselves "Well, whatever else I do, I want to be sure I energy drain him about six times, so he has to kill two-three more mobs before he levels!"
Anyways, just one of those 10AM thoughts.

I like 'energy drain' as long as it's not casted on me. It's got a lot of flavor and is one of those finesse abilities.
What would be the benefit of removing the exp loss aspect of it? You'd be taking away a bit of spice from shaman/AP/Necro. What else would they get in return?

That you could energy drain someone to a point where suddenly your friends can help gang him when before they could not.
