Hi,

So like I've mentioned on past posts I am a very old player returning.

I am interested in making a Battlerager but I believe the policies that I used to know on what armor/weapon are very outdated and dont apply anymore. Basically I am afraid of showing up to an interview like a christmas tree of magic items or items that might be considered magical.

So I checked the helpfiles to no go, I asked on newbie channel and I got different responses basically saying that "It Depends". I did get an imm response but I failed to see it and I quickly scrolled beyond it.

That leads me to the point, could we get a helpfile on what is acceptable by current battle rager standards on what to wear/wield?.

Aka. Whats the current battle rager fashion statement?. Is black out?, what about purple with splotches of blood all over???

More or less (magical) flagged items are definitely bad now. The plus side is that a number of years ago, Kastellyn (and I'm sure others) really went through and de-magicfied items that made no sense to be magical. If I recall correctly, if you're an applicant (having talked to Tahren) then magical items will actually cause you damage when you try to wear them (just like evil stuff hurts Fortress people).

So for the vast 99.9% of items, if it doesn't damage you when you try to wear it, you're all good. The only *rare* exception is probably items that are blessed and give supplications. Technically, it's not bad like magic is, but you're likely to get someone questioning you.

Otherwise...go smash some mages!

Okay, that blew my mind.

Now we can use nightmare blades (I don't think those are around anymore), frostbrand. Glowing and humming stuff, etc, etc.

Another good way to check is to hand any gear your suspicious of to Tahren, he will burn magical or return it to you.
Now that being said, there are some things which as a villager you should morally be averse to, the healing signet ring for example, and would want to avoid.

Seek out current battle members and have them dress you down, they can see magical items and can advise you on the things you should avoid.
