#55068, "Both specs for an extra legacy? I'd take it."

I wonder if this could be made possible.
Would make the warrior class more accessible to people who like to play simple. I know I don't appreciate weapon specializations at all, though.

Stopped over a year ago.
Add to that, a third legacy picked to be fun but not optimal for your build is a far cry from three you pick to go together.
But you already knew all that.

Much like when you told me cranial didn't put you into resting position and I posted a log that showed it did.
Basically, I'm a fan of yours, but you have a habit of either obfuscating the truth or not feeling like we deserve the truth.
In the example I posted (from early 2013) I posted that I thought role contest rewards were insane, and that multiple shifters had got their forms before 100 hrs.
You claimed that if that happened, you didn't know about it...but your wife gave out one of the rewards herself in 2009 before 100 hrs. And multiple other IMMs did it.
So the way I look at it, is either you don't give a #### about that type of stuff (your perogative) and therefore what you said is TECHNICALLY true...or you just lied to try and make me feel better.
I think you're more of the former than the latter, but yeah.
Basically, I don't believe you that you're not giving legacies to role contest winners anymore. I just don't. Sorry, but it is what it is. Of course, CF has many more problems than this (such as lack of players) but yeah.

Role contest winners of the last 16 months (since that announcement) are a matter of public record. You can buy all their PBFs and look for a legacy that one of them got as a reward if you want.

It's all good. The game (other than the parts I find less than enjoyable) seems to be running smoothly. I wish you could get more players but that's always the rub. I think I'm just getting too old to really grind away when there are so many other options to waste my free time with.

I don't see us doing this, but if we did, would you still want it if Hour was off the table?

I see legacies as a way to cover my warrior's shortcomings. I didn't think of hour at first, nor other combos that I described. I thought of something else.
The worst thing I dislike about warriors is that they have a hard time participating in the prep race that is hero ranks. Prepped warriors are typically very powerful but as a payoff they can't keep those preps on for every fight. Thus they must frequently contend with being a glass cannon.
Now, what's wrong with being a glass cannon? Nothing. You can still kill people at hero if you take offensive legacies. Essentially you kill enemies so fast that your fragility doesn't matter.
It's just... against a similar opponent it becomes weird. A single melee round may take off 40% of my health but also my opponent's. And then the next round may take none because of randomness of parry/dodge. It's not my idea of fun when you can't tell who's winning during the entire fight.
So I take defensive legacies. And then I find that two are not enough.

I've only had one successful one at hero. Help me out, here: you don't have specs but you get three legacies. With those three legacies, an average warrior player could be successful with dirt/disarm/offhand/bash/trip?
Would you make a lot more use out of the default weapon skills like slice, shield cleave and pugil?
I'm just curious as to how that would work out.

For example, greeting the avalanche (to lag), fluid deceptions (to reduce incoming damange), and crashing (to disarm).

Take hours past midnight then two legacies to compliment
If I plan to fight melee types then hours/greeting/cry
Against mages maybe hours/calming/landslide
Etc

Incarnadine to maledict, Whirlwind to make the most of it, landslide to lag at the end. Go Empire, use sword and shield with imperial defense, sword and dagger with offense.
Greeting/crashing plus any extra legacy that you can't live without.
Enigma to earthbind and maledict enemies. Cry, then trip. Gates or Riddle so you are still in fighting condition when you finish zapping them.
Giant damage monster. Fist, Riddle, Trapping. Bash or trip. Lash if you can get a really heavy flail.
As mentioned above, hour past midnight will replace any two specs all right.
