It's someone else's location, which they triggered but didn't get.

To be clear, I know nothing about who you're playing or the particular case in question. I'm just providing a case in which you would see that behavior.

Because I found it twice in a row at the same spot. Turns out it was just a really unlucky coincidence that someone(people) had triggered it without taking the rod both times before I went looking there.

3 times, a couple of days apart, everytime I went to get the amber it was on the tough mob that gave me almost 1k exp in the process. Then a week later nothing. I thought rods on mobs only appeared when attacked, not when someone was in the area. If it is true then the RNG is frucking with me big time, massive let down.

Either someone else is triggering it being there, or someone is handing the mob sleek amber rods.
By the way, is it definitely a sleek amber rather than just an amber wand with aura?

Hence me asking whether it was a sleek wand or not.
