Just an idea that might serve well to help out the Tribs and the law. I understand as it is, a trib cannot mark people unless in their own jurisdiction, however why can they not mark themselves as "Deputies" within protected cities that are not their own? People that are already marked as criminals should not be able to roam the other cities with a Tribunal around who is capable of enforcing the law. I mean, they can want for people for crimes against themselves in other cities, not their own.. so why cant they shoo criminals out, without their entrusted guards or powers. Seems only right really, leavig the deputization of normal citizens for the Magistrate's own judgment but allowing them to do their job in helping rid of criminals in others. Just a thought for consideration.

Your suggestion wouldn't work in practice.

The scope of a regular Magistrate's job is their city, so that's the why. Not everyone likes that very integral part of the design of Tribunal, but them's the breaks.

Personally, I don't think letting Tribunals PK criminals in all protected cities (without powers, as you suggested) is going to make much difference. At that point a Magistrate still cannot go after higher or lower level criminals and probably isn't very motivated to go after criminals that outmatch them.

I'm just not convinced.

I came out of this post thinking, "Maybe Magistrates shouldn't be able to flag people who attack them in other towns."

It's the one time they can flag and its because they have indisputable proof the person is guilty of a crime while they're off duty. You know that.

Become Provost and change the Rules to allow Tribunal to attack criminals within protected cities that are outside of their Jurisdiction. No code change required. It should have been that way from the start anyway.
