#5224, "Anonymous posting"

How do I post without having it attributed to the Graatch nick? It won't let me change my name - there is in fact no name box to type in at all, only the subject and message box.

Thanks

You have to log in, so you - the admins - could tell who it is really. But the reading public would not.

And you say "the gameplay forum" as though all the others arent. In fact almost all are, only the battlefield and one or two others are. This is the most important one though, as it is where people can ask things about how the game works and why, or why things are 'by design', which were posted anonymously, often.

Posting anonymously means posting with a nick that is not yours. Just like on Dios, once you log in (so the site admins can track you), there is a box for your name as well as for the subject as well as for the message. Your official name is in the name box, but you can remove it and put in something else, so you are posting anonymously as far as the reading public is concerned, but the site admins can still see who it is behind that name.

Get it?

This is particularly important when there is a question or comment that would give away who you are playing currently.

You have to be registered and logged in with the name you want to use in order to post on any of the protected forums. If you don't want to use your regular account, you'd have to create a second account.

My point in posting was to ask to make it different. The easy example being dioxides. You have to log in to post there, and it puts your name into the "name" box when you post, but it is changeable. You merely delete that name and type in a new one for that specific post. You are still logged in, you are still being tracked by the website people, but the post looks like it was from someone else to the outside reader.

My post was to ask to enable something like that here. That way, when my necromancer does something I want to ask about, everyone won't know that graatch is playing a necromancer....
