I will say that in fighting both the abolisher with metabolic slowing and the archmage with slow that metabolic slowing did not seem to affect regeneration at all. This could just be for those distinct two mobs though. I saw the regeneration bonus on slow. So perhaps metabolic only has benefits when cast on a willing target while slow has them no matter what.

The two spells are not 100% identical, but pretty close. The biggest difference being if they are a spell from your class, you can cast metabolic slowing on others and slow you cannot.

Metabolic slowing saves are (Or are in part) based on Con of the target?

These spells slow aging? Or if not both one and which one?

Only Metabolic Slowing reduces consumption of water and food.

They both reduce damage taken from bleeding.

1) no

2) doubt it

3) pretty sure this is accurate

4) pretty sure this one is just the metabolic versions else bleeding moves would own every shifter super hard

Not certain about these two.

I was pretty certain slow used to slow down food needs as well, but I so rarely have it up constantly that I'm not 100% certain anymore.

>They both reduce damage taken from bleeding.

This is wrong. Only metabolic quickening/slowing have an impact on the bleeding. It's DEFINITELY noticeable.

Slow USED to reduce hunger/thirst, but I'm pretty sure it no longer does. Only metabolic slowing and quickening affect hunger now, and it's pretty noticeable for tanks receiving metabolic quickening, vs receiving haste.

No, they DO both affect bleeding damage. I've played quite a few shifters, and whenever I get cut up by a dagger spec, if I don't have a regen form for recovery, I always slow myself and always see a noticeable difference in bleeding damage each hour, beginning on the tick after I cast (or enliven) slow.

One other significant difference between slow/haste and metabolic slowing/quickening is that metabolic slowing will reduce the number of attacks per round by one to a minimum of one, and metabolic quickening will increase the number of attacks per round by one. Slow and haste do not affect number of attacks per round.

So in all, the spells function as such:

Similarities:
1. Bonus/penalty to dex
2. Increase/decrease likelihood of penetrating defensive skills
3. Increase/decrease hp/mana/movement regen
4. Increase/decrease hourly bleeding damage
5. (Pretty sure the following is also true) Increase/decrease the likelihood of avoiding incoming attacks via defensive skills, in addition to the spells' effect on dex.

Differences:
1. Metabolic quickening/slowing will increase/decrease hunger and thirst rate, but haste/slow do not.
2. Metabolic quickening/slowing will increase/decrease number of attacks per round by one, to a minimum of one. Haste and slow do not affect attacks per round.

I don't think I missed anything, but I could be wrong.

Not quite, but close enough.

My understanding with 'slow' as opposed to 'metabolic slowing' is that while it doesn't reduce bleeding damage...you do regenerate more HP which can someone offset the bleeding a bit. This is assuming you aren't poisoned or plagued or have some other affect which completely negates all regen.

Is that true or is that also wrong?

You are correct.

Rot / wasting disease are the only affects I can think of which completely negate regen, but enough things like poison and plague which hamper it can add up to wiping out almost all of it in practice.
