Do you have to have a sphere under one of your patron's spheres for religion or just empowerment?
I picked a sphere for my role, but my role matches a different god and I'd like to follow that god but am I now excluded because my sphere is not one of their spheres?
Thanks.

Spheres are left over from a time where we didn't have the option of inputting roles. Instead of pointing to your role to cover you being a douchebag, you'd point to your sphere Deception or Anger or something.
Options for empowerment and interaction with immortals are pretty thin on the ground right now. Squeezing those options even tighter, and constraining people's characters (well, I want to play a paladin, and my only option for that is X and maybe, if I stretch it, Y, so now I'm forced to choose one of those spheres and somehow work it into my role.) Spheres provide nothing that roles don't also do, in a better way. Hell, I've never been able to bring myself to talk about a sphere in the game without it feeling completely OOC.

I think as a whole, CF would be a much much better game without spheres. That's what the role command is for, no real reason anymore for them. It actually hinders religion seekers more than helps them, with a game with such a small playerbase anymore, just open it up to let more options get through.

This dwarf here is full of RAGE. He is RAGEing mad and covered in armor he took from the corpses of those he killed in a RAGE.

I'd also like to see where each religion can have a "High Priest" type thing if the Imm has a follower worthy who can empower a new player on behalf of the Imm to say level 40 or so.
