#50759, "Plant (Question)"
|
I'm just wondering why the thief skill of plant isn't a general skill when more than one branch of thievery could make use of it and arguably the skill is simply stealing in reverse thereby most thieves already have the skillset and may have to learn a small modification in order to master the skill.
Pickpockets get it and it costs 6 thief points which honestly is alot for something you already have trained for and is the same thing in reverse.
I think it would be better served as a general skill at 3 points. Take a poisoner for example, you already have the most expensive build right there then on top of it you pretty much have to get plant (another six points) if you want to actually use some of your poisons in the manner I guess they are intended.
Dunno, this has always bugged me because I can't see why it would cost so much to steal in reverse.

Not sure if it bypasses the case when your victim is overburdened by weight, but it might.
The point about "it should be a general skill" is moot because it's first in the line - anyone can take it without having to take other skills for it.
