#50610, "Requested Gear"

So I'm a goodie, and I'm running around with an alright set of equipment. I see a piece of gear I think I want, and yay I can request it. I do, but find out the stats aren't what I thought they were, or it doesn't fit with the rest of my gear (headwear/mask situation, or I'm chaotic its orderly only).

What do I do with that piece of gear?

Two (three) options I see are: (1) return the item to the mob, which would suck for anyone else that came in to request it and didn't see the mob wearing it; (2-meh) sacrifice/sell said piece of equipment, but that seems really lame for most RP and I don't want to count this as an option; (3) give said piece of gear to a lowbie/ally/Fortress member for their pit.

I'd be inclined to go with the last option pretty much every time.

Caveat of course is, I'm not running around requesting every piece of gear in the game to give away to other people. Its just that often, I don't know an items' exact stats, or how it'll affect other gear I'm wearing, or some similar such reason.

Thanks much

I think that's the best way to handle game mechanics: i.e., there isn't an autowear prog for mobs.

The default mechanics were always that items only repop with the NPC if the NPC is killed. No?

Items repop after real life hours. However, there is no autowear prog if you just hand it back.

Zulg added code so if you handed a requested item back the mob would (eventually) re-wear/wield it.

Or just sacced.

Request should not result in the gear being used by someone that can't request it.

Kinship, however, could be since a trade was involved.

If you're seen handing off a piece of requested gear within 10-15 minutes of requesting it you're going to end up with Diet Request and will only be able to request as a ghost with all the mobs telling you to F off if you're not.
