I'm almost at 50 hours played now. Almost all of it but the first few hours and some periodic travel time was spent in the wilderness. Mostly afk.
As far as I can tell, I should have gotten fast camo something like 10-20 hours ago, at least. The only explanation I can think of is that when I void out in wilderness terrain I get civilized time, which would account for me having no fast camo at all despite a truly ridiculous amount of time sitting around waiting for it...
There aren't any other factors outside of wilderness time affecting fast camo, are there?

 I think it is, you don't come out of hiding as thief or...,

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that he made water only helpful for mariners but desert now is good terrain for all, excluding the ability to camo there.
I could be wrong but I believe this to be true.
