#49526, "No Internal Monologue improvement"
|
Instead of having that flaw do this....
Flaw Guy says 'Flaw Guy tells the group: Let me rest up
Could we instead instead have it do this...?
Flaw Guy tells the group 'Let me rest up'
With the first part being similar to an emote, and the actual quote being Yellow like a say.
It sounds less stupid and less OOCish this way.

The whole point of the flaw (as I suggested it) was to have the person say it. Not tell you how or who they said it to. The rest was added. My original concept was:
You tell your group: "Hey, Marvis. Lets kill those orcs."
Your groupmates would see: Mage tells the group: "Hey, Marvis. Lets kill those orcs." Mage says "Hey, Marvis. Lets kill those orcs."
Some one not in the group would see: Mage says "Hey, Marvis. Lets kill those orcs."
The exception being whispers (unless whisperto).
You whisper to Marvis: "Hey, that elf looks like a lady."
Everyone else sees:
Mage says to Marvis: "Hey, that elf looks like a lady."
So, I think the part where it says what you said it from is what I did not intend when I suggested it. Maybe it is much harder to code the other way.

gtell Let me rest up. Flaw Guy tells the group 'Let me rest up.'
(I don't know if it affects cabal or guild channel) cb Can anyone harm this guy? Flaw Guy says to the cabal 'Can anyone harm him?'
gc Rob this fool blind. Flaw Guy says to the guild 'Rob this fool blind.'
tell Bob Where are you? Flaw Guy tells someone 'Where are you?'

I had no idea that was due to a flaw. I honestly thought it was some kind of weird game glitch that was really annoying.
Feels totally ooc and kinda screws up the feel of things the way it works right now. Not a big fan at all of this one--IMHO it should definitely be fixed along the lines of some kind of emote as suggested.
