#47829, "Few goblin observations"
|
1. I haven't been able to wield weapons I have used bloodsteep on.
2. Archery does not seem to provide additional defense for goblins.
3. Not a big deal, but it seems like goblins would get light armor use.
4. GSV goblins cannot buy GSV mercs.
Thanks

I bloodsteep my weapons and use them all the time. But since the subject has been braught up could someone with a bit more know how explain the skill a bit for me please?
Just curious what high level bloodsteeps do? The damage doesn't seem to be increased, Kinda hard for me to tell the durations because I normally kill what gets tainted. Does increasing your ability with the skill up the damage, maladict, or duration of the tainted blade?
Just curious. Any information is appreciated.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "high level bloodsteep", but as the skill increases, you fail less. Since you take pretty good damage from the attempt, failing less is good. Since it can improve with use (when you hit something and it gets tainted) presumably there is a slightly higher chance of tainting someone with higher bloodsteep skill. It doesn't up damage, or maladicts, or duration AFAIK.
Might want to ask that you don't get plagued from bloodsteep infected corpses (it doesn't give plague, or getting it from the corpse seems backward), but it does do a bunch of other malediction-ish stuff that probably is only useful in PvP, but I don't have experience getting bloodsteep illness, just giving.

...was the fact they get hide but not any detect hidden done on purpose?
Really excited about their skill set, but yeah, my original idea is going to be tabled due to not being able to see hidden.

I'm pretty sure he means that goblins lack the stubby apendages, hairy feet, pot belly, and curly fro that the playerbase so deserves.

I think what he is referring to with #2, re: archery, is that it doesn't function like Hunter archery functions.
You seem to parry with the bow as you would any normal weapon, get no echo like you would about "keeping your distance" with a ranger--it really just feels like using an exotic weapon without any built-in skill attached to the weapon itself.
I can't REALLY speak to how good it is or isn't for defense, as I stopped before I ever trained archery skill up past 75%, but at first glance it seemed pretty darn crappy compared to wielding any normal weapons. Perhaps the equivalent of parrying with a whip or a flail at 75%.
I'm curious to know if archery is not functioning correctly for the raider class, actually...it doesn't feel like you're doing anything special like hopping about and keeping your distance while shooting arrows at your enemy.
